A quick IMPORTANT note on song length versus page length...

This was all supposed to be done where if a song was 2 minutes long, it would "cover" 2 pages. If it was 3:30 in length, it would cover 3 and 1/2 pages. You get the idea. This was the hinge/focal point/foundation of all of this in the first place.

Once I started collaborating with Jettabugfox on Breaking Dawn and Eclipse (and a little bit on New Moon), I got to be a bit of a perfectionist on this point - even throwing out songs that were 10 seconds too long or short.

Having recently reviewed the song length vs. page lengths of my Twilight and New Moon lists, I've come to the following conclusion: I must have been on drugs.
Almost NONE of these songs are the right length per my current standards. Some are as much as a full minute off. Seriously, I don't know what I was thinking.

It's kind of like looking back at drawings you did when you were 2 or 3. Nothing is inside the lines. Strange color choices. And, is that blob an orange or a sun or a fist or a flower?
Looking back, I kind of understand why the majority of the responses I got from reviewers here were of the "that's nice dear", "you must have worked hard", or silence variety.

So please, I'm begging you, set any prior experiences with these Twilight or New Moon lists aside and please try to take a fresh look.

I'll answer, because I know what Heather meant by that...

We were super picky about the times for the songs in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn - so they are very strictly set to the one page = 1:00 time frame. The songs in Twilight and New Moon are not as strictly set to these parameters. The one page a minute rate was set specifically because it is a slowish pace so that you can really comprehend what you are reading as you listen. I read much faster than this myself, but when I read while listening, I purposefully slow myself down so that I can think about the music and the text at the same time (I still end up skipping to the next song sometimes, though - its a perfectly acceptable solution ).

For the record, I've talked with a few people for whom 1page/min is too fast, so it goes the other way, too.

But yes: Twilight and New Moon lists are kind of fast-and-loose with the timing. Meaning: they are nowhere near as precise and might be frustrating for those who do read at that pace properly.

The Eclipse and Breakign Dawn lists stick to the 1page/min pacing so that it's at least consistent.
