Personally, Garrett was my favorite new character in Breaking Dawn. I LOVE him. For some reason, he reminds me of the vampire version of Ian O'Shea. LOL! Maybe that's just my wishful thinking, huh. But I really enjoyed watching his progression from a loner nomad to standing up for the Cullen family - and being the first one to actually call them a family and not a coven - and then move into a relationship with Kate. His line about following her anywhere is just perfect.

Anyone writing Garrett/Kate fan fic? Let me know!

To add on to that, he was from one of the most interesting times in American History: The Revolutionary War Era. Everytime he speaks, I can just tell what age he is from, and I loved reading all his parts.

Oh yes! His big speech at the end is a real highlight for me. Anyone who can tell Aro like it is and live to tell about it must be special!

Oh, finally, the Garrett thread! <3 I absolutely loved Garrett to death, his line about "And whom am I revolting against? Are you my king?" Just about had me in a fit of squeeing. When it seemed that every other character in BD was changing so much, it was nice to see a solid, firm character like Garret. Also...GAte (Garrett/Kate). OH YES. I would love to see them in future books. Maybe even a future book from Garrett's point of view? :D SM did say she loved him...

I have to say, talk about a character that had me at hello! I was totally on the Garrett bandwagon with "I'll follow you anywhere".

Plus he was talking to Kate about the vegetarian lifestyle. we know from Jasper it's a very hard thing to switch.

I liked Garrett ever since her first showed up in the book. He was definitely my favorite new character that was introduced. The one thing that stood out to me the most was the fact that he tried the "vegetarian" diet instead of just brushing it off and calling them crazy like most of the other vampires did. He thought it was interesting and tried it. He didn't really like it, but at least he TRIED. I also really enjoyed he huge speech when they were all standing up to the Volturi. I wish him and Kate all the best.

Garrett rocked! I thought he was very interesting and really willing to try new things. My favorite part with him was when he asked Kate to shock him and Edward was like 'that's not such a good idea...' hahaaaa:]

He's really cool. New favorite character in Breaking Dawn !

The "Kate shocking Garrett" was even more impressive when he was preventing his "Katie" from attacking the Volturi after Irina was killed. It hurt. He knew just how much it would hurt because he had sampled a small bit of it (his index finger touching her palm) earlier. Yet he hung on and was able to prevent her from jeopardizing herself and the rest of the Cullen witnesses. I know they say love hurts, but I bet they never considered how electrifying it can be!

Garrett's speech was very impressive. I loved how Garrett/Stephenie wove the whole "witness" theme together. I wonder if he and Jasper ever crossed paths previously, since he seemed to know a few of the North American nomads (Charles and his mate, for instance), and both wonderful vampires (Garrett and Jasper) have been around for a while. I'm also amazed how well developed he was as a character considering how late in the novel he appears, especially considering how many things are happening simultaneously. I wonder how he was transformed into a vampire. Hoped it helped General Washington! (Hey, maybe that's how the war was won and America was created - thanks to a patriotic vampire with an adventuring, honourable heart!)
