Hello all!!!!

Happy Weekend!

Pffff I’m tired. I have been walking around town the whole day. I haven’t bought much, only a few shorts for the vacation… I feel I need much more clothes for the summer. But it was a very depressing day as I couldn’t fit in many clothes… I really want to loose some weight but I’m really craving sweet things…

On a positive note, I think we will get Rob in suit and shaven today!!! He is in DC for a dinner with the president… He can’t go there unshaven…
Also Kris has been spotted in DC… It looks like she flew from cinecom to DC to be with Rob… maybe she is his +1 for the dinner… (is that even possible).

Now just a quick run through the posts,

Caryn, I haven’t been able to watch the Ellen clip about Fifty yet… but I’m sure it’s hilarious. I really love Ellen’s sense of humor.

Songbird, I had hoped that our weekends would be nice enough to go and walk so that I could get used to them but it seems I have to either walk in the rain or sacrifice my fashion for that…

Lynne, if you feel like you have done the cuts reasonably than you shouldn’t feel like they are right to blame you.

Tonise, it sounds like the 12 step program will make you mentally and emotionally stronger. I’m really curious about meeting you next month. You seem like such a busy woman who has lots of fun in her life, I might be able to learn something from you… maybe from all of my HH-sisters…

I really have to start planning the rest of my trip… So I’ll be diving in road maps and hotels…
See you all tomorrow…

Good afternoon, siblings. Well, as if I didn’t need more challenges, I managed to wrench my back yesterday, so I’ve been couch-bound for the better part of the last day or so. On the upside, I can at least have my laptop and fanfic close at hand.

RobNews~ Well, it looks like the world is going a little surreal today. Apparently, as Marielle, mentioned, there is A LOT of speculation that Rob is in Washington DC to attend the National White House Correspondent's Dinner, which is a formal White House occasion, complete with the PotUS and FLotUS present. And, on top of that, Kris is supposedly in town. I'm gobsmacked over this whole thing. But, on the other side, I'll be glued to CSPAN around 7 pm when they start covering arrivals. WOW, this is weird. A pic of Rob and President Obama might just put me over the edge. Were Kris & Rob to appear there together, that would be... I can't even... the equivalent of appearing on Oscar carpet together... WOW!!!

Minime~ First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Well, at least you do have Chicago to look forward to, even if you have to make some short term arrangements you’re not fond of. Just hold on to your goals and eventually, mom will figure out that you’ve done what you need to do and should be able to do what you want to do.

Sean~ I have no idea about the tweet or Kris visiting said fan. I know we haven’t seen her since Thursday and her appearance in LV in support of SWatH. I’m not concerned at all about rumors about the status of their relationship. As I have said often, what they ragmags (and blogs) report and what is reality are very very often miles apart.

Marielle~ Hope you are enjoying the long weekend. Don’t worry about the pictures! Eventually, you’ll be thankful you have them on and won’t care how they look. Yes, I’ve seen the updates about the pics of Rob. I’m still freaked that it looks like we’ll see Rob at the nines much sooner than Cannes. Although, I’m a little doubtful we’ll see both of them together at the Correspondent’s Dinner. That would be a wayyyyyy public way to “come out” as it were. So, we’ll see.

Karena~ I hope the littlun’ starts to feel better soon.

Susan~ I definitely wouldn’t refer to myself as Superwoman. I just get done what I need to, like every other woman out there. I love just about anything Ellen does, but this was particularly hilarious to me. I am sooo looking forward to how she works this when Rob is there in November because you know it will come up!

Lynne~ UGH! That does suck! Well, at least, hopefully, it might go a little faster than the first time through as your memory will kick in and help you out.

Amy~ I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough week. How’s mom feeling? Well, think of it this way, after last week, next week will be that much better. :D

Susie~ Hope the birthday lunch was wonderful. Sounds like you’ve been having a good several days.

Tonise~ I’m sorry you’ve had a difficult day, but it sounds like all the difficulty gets you to a better place. Always look forward and you will get where you want to be.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ASHLEY!

Can't wait to see your cool birthday cake! Have fun today.

EDIT
Wait! I see StellaBlueBella (a/k/a Rachel) lurking here at the Halfway House!
Hi Rachel! How's your new little baby?

EDIT #2 - I had initially typed Amy's name instead of Ashley's! Now it's correct. Sorry.

Hi everyone :)

Just a quick little post right now, because Robstenation is down because the site's owner has a family emergency, and because I wanna confirm that this message is coming to you from my new laptop--and it's so great! It's got a big screen, a good keyboard, and I can watch You Tube videos on full screen now.

Also, happy birthday Ashley.

Kristen (rumored) and Rob (confirmed) are expected to be attending a White House press dinner tonight.

I'll be back later, but I'll leave you all with this photo: it's what Fallen One received for their performance today:

Happy birthday, Ashley and Amy!

I went to a 30th birthday party last night for a good friend of mine. I gave her the novel of The Host as a present. She has read all the Twilight books, and loved them (we are going to the midnight screening of BD 2 together!) and now I want to get her interested in The Host. I hope she likes it!

marielle - Rob clean shaven and in a suit? Hm, that sounds like a great start to the day! Someone post a link to the photos! There must be some! Yes, but I've done so many cuts, she may think I'm just being unreasonable, or that I don't like that style, so don't 'get' it.

Caryn - yes, I hope it will be quicker this time. It is reading better because of my cuts, I think. Boy, I'd love to see a photo of Kris and Rob with Obama!

Lynne and Caryn: There was a bit of a discussion about this on IMDB's KS board, and some are saying that Kristen won't go because some reason that Kristen probably takes her politics personally and that's something that she might not want to share with people publicly.

But the WHCD is more of a roast of the president and VP and of politicians in general, and from that standpoint, I can see Kristen and Rob both going, but Rob has been confirmed, and right now Kristen's appearance is a rumor.

Hey guys!
Hope you’re all having a nice weekend. I’m just being lazy today; I need it after my first real working week again. Lucky for me we have a long weekend, because Monday is Queen’s-day!
Because it took me so long to catch up with you all, Marielle posted the picture I originally planned to use. Dammit. ;) Such a gorgeous shot and the edit actually makes it even better. :swoon: Thanks for posting, Marielle.
Anyway, this sexy vid is my new visual contribution for the day. H.O.T. I wonder if BD1 would have gotten a PG-13 rating in this edit…
BTW, have you guys heard the new song for the SWatH OST? Breath Of Life by Florence and the Machine. It’s amazing! I love it! But then, I love basically everything from Florence and the Machine.

Lynne - Happy birthday to your mother and husband! I can understand that you feel like you’re in a bit of a difficult position with the book you’re editing. I think it’s best to be honest though. Just explain what you mean in a positive, constructive-criticism kind of way and make sure you have valid arguments for the cuts. Good luck! And I’m sorry you have to go through it again; technology really sucks sometimes.

Susie – That’s a great idea; I’ve put it in my siggy. :) I’m glad you had a nice little vacation. How was the concert? It’s okay to brag about your daughter. It sounds like she’s doing fantastic in college. Isn’t she graduating soon? Does she have plans after that? I love the gif you posted on HumpDay! :swoon:

Marielle – Thanks for answering the FF.net question. I’ve gotten some reviews that only say: “This is funny/cute”. And while I appreciate them very much, I thought it would be a little silly to answer each of them through pm just to say “Thanks”. Anyways.
The 9 months internship should be enough to make some conclusions. The subject is basically a small portion of the longer research my supervisor is doing. For that small portion, I can make conclusions, but the entire research will take at least 3 years. But he is almost finished with it, so they’re getting ready to publish. If my project gives some good/interesting results I might end up with my first co-authorship, which is quite a big deal and something I’m quite excited about.
I’m sorry the house you were looking at was disappointing. Hope you find your dream-house soon! That’s exciting that you dad is coming home. How long has he been away this time? Thanks for the cooking tip. I do try that sometimes, but it’s hard to find things that will stay good in my fridge and that don’t require an oven to make it. (I don’t have an oven or a freezer.) Also, most of the recipes I know right now are for four people and I don’t really want to be eating the same thing four days in a row, hihi.

Susan – The experiment you described with the rats is alright; I could handle that. The kind of animal research they perform at my university is quite a bit more “heavy” though. They perform lots of surgeries and dissections, mostly on mice. For our Physiology class in my first year we had to dissect a rat. It was horrible. I just can’t stand the smell and the sight of it. And the worst part was that we had to draw pictures of the organs etc. so we really had to look at it. Luckily I had a very understanding lab-partner who did most of the actual cutting. By the end of the day I did get kind of used to everything and I was more involved, which actually made me a bit proud of myself for overcoming that… fear, I guess. We also had to work with real human organs once for Anatomy, but those were prepped and made so that they could be preserved for educational purposes. They looked and felt like they were made of plastic/rubber, which made it easy to pretend they were. Still the thought alone and the formaldehyde smell were enough to make me nauseous.
I’m sorry if all that grossed you out. I’m not some sort of animal activist or anything. I get why they have to do it and it’s honestly as humane as possible and strictly regulated and enforced by law, but I just don’t want to be the one doing it. I guess you could think of me as Bella during blood-typing, hihi. It’s also the reason I decided not to go to Med School, even though I’m incredibly fascinated by the human body and wanted to become a doctor for a while.
I’m sorry you’re sick. Hope you’ll feel better soon! I’m sure the quiet weekend will help you get the rest you need.

Caryn – Wow, sounds like you had a very busy week. I honestly don’t know how you do it. Kris definitely looks fantastic in OtR! Her eyes do look a little blue-ish in that pic, but I think it’s just the lighting and the background. I don’t think she’s wearing colored contacts. Could be though. Maybe it will come up in an interview once promo for the movie starts… Thanks for answering the FF.net question. Like I said to Marielle: I’ve gotten some reviews that only say: “This is funny/cute”. And while I appreciate them very much, I thought it would be a little silly to answer each of them through pm just to say “Thanks”. I loved Ellen’s bit on Fifty Shades! She’s hilarious, one of the funniest people on earth imo. I hope your back will feel better soon!

Ginnie – I’m so sorry about all the troubles in your life right now. I wish I could say something to make you feel better, but I don’t really have a way with words in these kinds of situations. Just know we’re here for you and will support you in every way we can. Big Hugs!

Grayce – I just read the story about your father. That’s so sad. I’m sorry. How old was he? You’ve come up with a beautiful way to remember him though. I’m not religious, but I do believe our loved ones always stay with us and watch over us. And I’m sure your father is too.
If you were referring to the picture I posted last Sunday in your response to me; that was from Kristen’s movie On the Road, not SWatH. It’s the movie that’s going to Cannes. Though I do agree with you that I can’t wait for SWatH to come out. That one looks fierce!
You talked about The Help and I wondered if you’ve read the fanfic Emancipation Proclamation? It’s now an actual book I believe (Sempre, I think?). I’m planning on reading the book one day, because I absolutely loved that story but my to-read-list is way too long right now. The story doesn’t deal so much with racism, but it does deal with slavery and human trafficking. Anyway, just wondered if you’ve read it since you brought that up.

Sean – I haven’t heard or read anything about Kristen flying out to be with an ill fan. I am afraid someone made that up, but if it’s true that would be so, so sweet of her! I’m excited for Kristen having a new project in the works too. Although it sounds a bit wacky:
“The movie follows Mya (Stewart) and Chris, a pair of San Fernando Valley lovebirds with a penchant for bad choices and dangerous behavior. After selling a fake snuff film featuring Mya, they ride off into the sunset with a bundle of cash. Years later, Mya must "return from the dead" to save the younger sister she left behind in Cali, where the young couple contends with angry former business partners, homicidal porn stars, stoner vet techs, an unstoppable killing machine in a cowboy hat and their own contentious relationship.” :?
Congratulations on the check and the new laptop! I’m sure it will be a huge help right now.

Ann Marie – Sorry you didn’t get the job. Keep looking. I’m sure you’ll find something that’s right for you. Also: YAY! for being able to go to HH-CON! I wish I could be there too.

Tonise – I’m glad you had such a nice relaxing time last week. Sounds like you really needed it. And I’m glad you’ve been feeling better after the fluid removal. I’m sure you’ll lose that 13 pounds in no time! We’re here to support you in any case! Sounds like you really get a lot of help and support from the CR program. I’m happy for you and hope it will continue to benefit you. Good luck!

Brenda – How exciting about possible taking swing lessons! I hope you do. I’m sure it will be lots of fun for you and your husband. Also, good for you for starting to exercise again! Keep it up! Thanks for answering the FF.net question. Like I said to Marielle and Caryn: I’ve gotten some reviews that only say: “This is funny/cute”. And while I appreciate them very much, I thought it would be a little silly to answer each of them through pm just to say “Thanks”. I’ve put it in my author’s note now.

AshleyHAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have a fabulous day! Your class sounds really interesting, lots of different subjects. And I’m sure you’ll enjoy the labs. At least I always like seeing things in practice rather than just learning the theoretical parts. Are you planning on having a career in health care? Thanks for answering the FF.net question. Like I said to a few of the other ladies: I’ve gotten some reviews that only say: “This is funny/cute”. And while I appreciate them very much, I thought it would be a little silly to answer each of them through pm just to say “Thanks”. Good luck with your driver’s test today! (You did mean driver’s test, right?)

Wait… Now I’m confused. It’s Amy’s birthday? I thought it was Ashley’s? Sorry if I’ve made a mistake here… Actually, I’m pretty sure Amy’s birthday is August 15, as I’ve just checked the birthday list so…yeah. :)

Hi! to Tracy, Amy, Desiree, Karena, Rachel and everyone else!

About the TY-idea – Thanks for your responses. It was something that just popped in my head. It sounds a bit silly now reading it again… But I do still like the pictures idea. I have absolutely no idea how to make it happen. Maybe I should ask Alphie and Pel or the mods? It could be an online initiative, where everyone could upload there picture to. And maybe even a little massage that would show up if you click the picture once the whole thing is finished. There could be an online version with all the pictures and messages and in my ideal world there would be an actual poster with all the pictures revealed at the time of the BD2 premier. If all the fansites from all around the world could work together and promote it… who knows where it could end up. I just thought it would be cool to do something to show our appreciation and we’re not just crazy screaming fangirls. Show them that we can actually do something positive with that energy.
Besides obviously the ticket sales, Marielle. ;) You bring up a good point though. That does show our love for the series in a very powerful way. A letter would be a good idea as well, but how can you actually guarantee that they read it and it doesn’t get lost in the big pile at their manager’s office… But then again, how can you guarantee that they will know about this…
I have no idea how much it would cost each person, Susan. Something like 5-10 dollars… I don’t know. I guess it also depends on how much it would cost to make it happen and how many people participate…

Off to bed for me. Hopefully we’ll have some pics of Rob (and Kris…) at the White House when I wake up. That would be so cool for them! Bye!

Suzan: Loved the video--that means that I'll like BD--still don't know why in America romance is shunned compared to mindless violence, but I guess that's the way it is...

Everyone: I'll be checking out for KS/RP news tonight, and I've been wondering about Kristen's appearance on the Graham Norton Show. This is related to a post that a KS fan made on Kristen's IMDB message board. I don't think obviously that Norton being openly gay will be a big put off--Kristen probably has several gay friends, most notably Bill Condon, but I think that Graham's "I'm openly gay, make fun of me" and his reinforcement of negative gay stereotypes could be a put off for Kristen. Stuff like that I believe Kristen takes seriously, but she also seems to be a bit of a "whatever floats your boat" type of girl with most things. So I don't know how she'd feel about that, but she must not have a big problem with it since she'll be on his show.

I'll be back later :)

D'oh! I wrote "Amy" instead of "Ashley" for the birthday wishes in my last post!
SORRY. I'll do an edit on that.

Amy - No matter how much I love you, it isn't your birthday today, sorry!
