Re: Renesmee #2

Does anyone else not like her that much? It's not anything she did, it's just that she is so perfect. There is nothing wrong with her. She's too perfect. Part of being an interesting and well rounded character is having noticable flaws. Renesmee doesn't have any. She beautiful, extremely smart, gro...

Re: Imprinting

^^Well said. I agree completely. Can't forget the grim reality hiding just under the fairy-tale surface, eh?

Re: Imprinting

I think this is just the point about imprinting. I just read about this, where Jacob is telling Bella about Quil imprinting on Claire. And he explains how it's not some dirty relationship with a kid. Jacob says that the wolf will be whatever his imprintee needs him to be. He will be her friend, her...

Re: Twilight verses the Host

There were the seekers. As I recall- and I could be wrong- the seekers were the unofficial leaders of the souls, in that they were generally looked up to and obeyed and on occasion feared. Incidentally, your description of the soul society sounds an awful lot like what the Inner Party was trying to ...

Re: Twilight verses the Host

On the other hand, I don't see how parasites who overtake civilization after civilization and (in the case of Earth) violently hunt down rebels can consider themselves "peaceful". Maybe they don't indulge in excessive violence, but they're possessing intelligent beings against their will... How is ...

Re: Imprinting

^The difference being, in Twilight imprinting is said to be something greater than true love, whereas in the real world it's recognized as a simple crush... or, in really imprinting-esque scenarios, full-blown obsession or stalking.

Re: Jacob and Leah's friendship

^^Of course, flaws are what makes a good character. Sure, Leah was out of line yelling at a sick pregnant woman. She probably knew that. However, she did it anyway because she let her temper get the better of her, which is something I can actually relate to (heh...). And she had a point- from her vi...

Re: Imprinting

I'm not saying it's wrong to dote on someone you love. What I'm saying is it's wrong to do so if they don't want you to dote on them. I'm not saying it's wrong to want to be with someone you love- but it is wrong to force your presence upon them if they don't want you around. The implication in the ...

Re: Chapter 3 ~ The End

1. Did you feel a sense of foreboding in this chapter? At what point did you feel what was coming? Or did it take you by surprise? "The End". I went, "oh he's gonna break up with her" the moment I read the chapter heading. 2. Just as Bella did, have you ever felt that subconscious desire to grasp a...

Re: Chapter 2 ~ Open Book

1. Where did you think Edward had gone off to at the start of the chapter and why did you think he had vanished? I figured it had something to do with his reaction in Biology. I thought Bella was kind of overreacting though. 2. We learn a few things about Bella's parents in this chapter. Charlie ca...
