Re: Discrepancies

I would guess burning napalm, if you could get it on a vampire, would kill one. I suspect that they could make it through "standard" fire relatively unharmed, as long as they were not "bleeding venom" but also suspect that more extreme heat would damage their outer "stone-like" skin and set their v...

Re: Twilight Universe General Philosophical Musings

Physically, certainly, but vampirism doesn't come with an instant ticket to hyper-intelligence any more than imprinting comes with a direct jack-in to fate (don't even start me on imprinting). Vampires would likely recognize that any being capable of living as long as them without going mad (which, ...

Re: Made fun of for liking Twilight?

Who knew there was an age limit to liking a story? lol there isnt but apparantly the general stereotype of a twilight fan is a teenager or apparantly so from the point of view of the twi-haters.... go figure that actually many people are in their 20's or above! If it helps you understand, the...

Re: Twilight Universe General Philosophical Musings

I'm gonna go ahead and echo Ring's statement on faeries - read a bit about the Seelie and the Unseelie. Check out legends about Nanny Rutt or the Bag Man. For that matter, if you can get a hold of a copy, check out White Wolf's (I reference them a lot, don't I? They make good stuff) Changeling: the ...

Re: Twilight Universe General Philosophical Musings

What do you believe is behind the myths? Do you see any basic truths on which they touch? I thought this deserved a bit of getting back to. A lot of people forget that all myths were religions at some point. From Tiamat to the Aos Sidhe, mythology has its roots in things people used to believe just...

Re: Twilight Universe General Philosophical Musings

So, to be entirely sure that I have this straight, you feel that the Denalis were "less evil" because they fussed themselves about killing quickly and cleanly? I'm going to spend a couple of minutes breathing deep here before I finish my reply. I may also punch a baby seal, but since I'm in Kansas, ...

Re: Writers Central

Hiya! Finally found you guys - Home linked me to the thread! I'll be glad to help any way I can - I was part of a writing group for a while that dealt in professional writing. It disbanded due to IRL issues, but I've got a lot of advice, techniques, and critique to offer (when I have the time). On a...

Re: The Science of Twilight

@Openhome - Speaking of writing threads, where the hell are they?

I know that Knives has found the thread, but just in case someone else is wondering while they read this, the writers thread is found HERE.
