Re: The Third Table

Thanks Pubesy! A little background: So on TUGPM we were revisting the question that how can a non-vegetarian vampire consume humans when they them selves was human in the past. After all humans eat cows, but they were never cows themselves! Pubesy came up with this excellent theory, that perhaps wha...

Re: Twilight Universe General Philosophical Musings

I think that is a really interesting question!! I really would love to ponder and discuss it more!! I would like it to get the attention it deserves. I think this would be an excellent topic for the Third Table thread It's more topical for what the adults there have been discussing. TUGPM tends to m...

Re: The Third Table

a few things: Marcus' wife had a power yes. She made everyone happy . Little singing birds and glitter and happy ponies. Then, because this wasn't power to the use and liking of Aro, he murdered her. Therefore I think Alcyone's complaint about the Volturi women and their lack of power to be valid. E...

Re: Twilight Universe General Philosophical Musings

I was going to put this at the end of my last post, but on reflection I think double-posting is -- for once -- a better idea! So maybe it's no wonder if as a character, Carlisle doesn't actually quite add up. Because here (as in some other places in Stephenie's story), her character's function is p...

Re: The Third Table

So yes, MS is a love story: Edward and Bella’s love for one another is the luminous spindle around which this other story of darkness and suffering and redemption turns. But it is also so much more that it’s scarcely surprising if the love story shines less unanswerably bright here than it does see...

Re: Twilight Universe General Philosophical Musings

how can we call rosalie a successful creation of carlisle? She killed a number of people after her transformation, including her fiance. do their lives not count? It's not that their lives don't count. I think they do. Surely they do. In fact Rose herself says her record is almost as good as Carlis...

Re: The Third Table

Though Carlisle is an interesting counterexample. His self-restraint is as great as Edward's, but he's spectacularly less high-handed. Which really just goes to show -- as you were observing in a slightly different context -- that there are no universals where people are concerned, only individuals...

Re: The Third Table

Okay. I'm gonna post about how I feel about dear Edward. Deep breaths Ouisa, deep breaths. I so don't have time to post a long post right now. Lisa's right. Edward, well he's obsessive. About EVERYTHING. And it occurs to me that this might be what saves him, and Bella too. If Edward wasn't so gosh d...

NW: Normally I wouldn't post such things as it isn't always conducive to the types of conversation we like to have on these threads but you know what, I agree with you . Yes I know. The earth itself is gonna implode. One of my biggest problems with BD, is that Bella's sacrifices are just whisked awa...

Re: The Twilight Advice Column--Tongue in Cheek version

Tyler, When we did Lauren's makeover and new hairdo. We recommended drastic changes to her nasal structure. S Once the procedure is complete perhaps the problem will be corrected. Sadly she had to save up for the procedure so not sure of the timeline there. Association of Western Washington Modeling...
