actually, holdingoutforjacob, if you carefully read the dialouge, Rose states plainly that she does not like Bella "but would try harder"... not very substantial evidence... ;) anyway, I think Bella should have absorbed Rose's advise... she made some awfully rash choices! It all worked out...
