Re: I've Seen New Moon! (Spoiler Alert)

I was very pleasantly surprised by just how much I enjoyed this movie. I really had issues with Twilight, but they just did bounds above that with New Moon. Highlights: - One of the best song pairings in a movie: Thom Yorke during that chase scene. Very, very nicely done! - Taylor Lautner absolutely...

Re: Bella Swan Cullen #3

HOFJ, I think you're stopping a little short in your assessments. Yes, Jacob's motivation was to keep Bella human. But it was to keep her human so that she could be with him, ultimately being a selfish act. He wanted Bella to himself, and he did a number of things that were inconsiderate in order to...

Re: Edward Cullen #6

Do you believe that Bella was good for Edward? [/color] Honestly, yes. I think Edward needed someone like Bella who would not go along with everything silently, someone who would dig her heels in and say "no" when appropriate. Basically, Edward needed to be with someone who would bring him down fro...

Re: New Moon Trailer

Stephenie answered a lot of questions on her site, and she said that the model of the car was changed and the color is a dark silver, not black. But that's how it's staying, apparently. They can always claim the Cullens are just rich enough to buy a ton of Volvo's and use them randomly.

Re: Bella Swan Cullen #3

Okay, on to when Bella is selfish. I think her selfishness really comes up most with Edward. Not only does she want to become a vampire, which she knows will cause him serious guilt and pain, but she wants HIM to be the one to do it, which she knows is killing him due to the fear he'll mess it up a...

Re: Edward Cullen #6

I also can't see the metaphor working entirely. The only times I see it as valid is when a vampire is newborn, partially "starved" or finds their singer. But mature vampires obviously don't have that problem. Look at every last vampire that Bella encountered going through the Volturi headquarters: n...

Re: Bella Swan Cullen #3

Well, I haven't read Midnight Sun. Feel like you're jumping down my throat a bit, but that's probably a misconception on my part. Edward decided he would love her, he would pursue her, yes. But he also knew it was "wrong" and it caused him great grief, guilt, and pain. Even when their happy ending ...

Re: Bella Swan Cullen #3

HOFJ, I just wanted to point out that, having read Midnight Sun's partial release, we do have a better understanding of Edward. If you haven't read it, then I won't go into detail. But it is entirely untrue that Edward didn't ask for any of this. When he fell in love with Bella, he made the consciou...

Re: Edward Cullen #6

He had very purposefully left Carlisle's side, rebelled against the lifestyle Carlisle had introduced him to. But the emotional attachments had already been made, in my opinion. He had already embraced humanity enough to have it backlash when he did go out and hunt humans. I imagine it was much the ...

Re: Edward Cullen #6

I’d never thought I’d see the day where I am might disagree with you, but I think it has arrived. Commit murder . . . in what context? Is a human attacked by an animal, any animal, considered murder? Are humans referred to as “murders” when they slaughter those poor animals that end up on our dinne...
