I totally agree with you. No mainstream or familiar songs but maybe similar and underground. I approach it this way. The movie will be familiar because we have read the book already, so the thing to make this film pop out would be the use of mostly unknown bands and genres. For example, when I first saw The Crow the visuals grabbed me but not as much as the music of mostly unheard artist. Unheard in the sense of not in the top 40.

This may have been mentioned before, and I know that it was talked about on the previous Lex, but the person in charge of the music for the movie is the same person that handled music for The OC. Regardless of whether you liked that show, the music they had on it was always excellent and a good mix of well-knowns and unheard-ofs.

So, I'm guessing good things are in the works.

i totally agree with the no mainstream theme, but now that i know whos looking after the music (& i did like the OC lol) i feel confident that they wont disapoint us

So I just saw the soundtrack and I have to say I am pretty happy with it. I am glad that they used I'm not Okay by My Chemical Romance...and muse...it really shows how much of a collaboration this was with stephanie. But of course there are things I wish were on there...for one...claire de lune....and two where are pattinsons songs....huh?

also! i found this song that reminds me of twilight so freaking much i think it would work out fantastically for the movie....its romantic in a very dark humored sort of way.

it is called - the horror of our love - by Ludo. You have to check it out and tell me what you think! I was flabbergasted when I noticed it off hand one day while listeing to their album. I can't wait for the movie!!!!!

Am I missing something?...Is there an official soundtrack list somewhere? Any way the one thing I did notice is the E Online article ( http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_ma ... amore.html ) reporting the Twilight cast introducing "Paramore, the pop-rock band that has a new still-untitled song on the movie's soundtrack." Woohoo! Sweet....a new Paramore song...and it's gonna be on the Twilight soundtrack I'm excited about that.

I'm going to bring up an old song. I hadn't heard it or thought about it in years and then I happened to hear it again just a few weeks ago. Since then, it has become THE love song for Bella and Edward to me. I picture it as covering all 4 books though, so I don't know if it belongs on Twilight's soundtrack, but I love it.

There have been a lot of songs listed that seem to fit but I'm really hoping for some new songs tailored specifically to the movie. And I think it's wonderful that Rob will have some songs on the soundtrack. How fitting!

i think, as a joke, it would be wonderful if "i believe in a thing called love" by the darkness was on the soundtrack. it just makes too much sense if you listen to it with bella's feelings in mind. haha i would love it if it randomly showed up in the movie. just a thought.

okay I know this is obsessive and weird...but I totally looked at this page for days to see what people would say about that song only no one said anything...I am not sure if anyone even listened to it. Arrgghh! I just hate feeling alone in something. oh well...but you should still check out horror of our love by ludo!

and btw I really enjoy these two Ron Pope songs they have some nice similarities in their lyrics to the story...I think it fits with midnight sun...more of Edawrd's point of view...

ok so...does anyone know the song "Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order?? Charlotte Martin does a really pretty cover of the song and the lyrics totally fit the story. at least in my head.

Things we know about the Soundtrack:

- Paramore will have a new song featured

- Muse was contacted about being on the soundtrack, but no verification has been given on wether he accepted.

- Two songs written and performed by Robert Pattinson will be featured

- The Lullaby is an orchestration which will be played on the piano at one point in the film by Robert Pattinson


Am I missing anything?
