alellie wrote:"Even an honest man falls into duress."
"I think a knife under the throat counts as duress, Jared."
-Doc, Jared, and Jamie

"But Ian, he's your brother."
"A fact that shames me."
-Ian and Wanda

"Easy...I come in peace."
-Ian to Wanda

:) I'll look for more.

I love all these quotes but my favorite is:

"I truly love you, Ian. With my whole soul, I love you."
"I truly love you, too, my Wanderer." -Wanda and Ian

That made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :D

I love all of the ones that were said!! This book really made me laugh and cry in some spots...

p. 349
"Are you trying to be annoying?... Because if you are, then be assured, you have succeded." Wanda to Jared after she got attacked by Kyle.

This whole scene just cracks me up!!:
p. 349
"I am female," I complained. "That 'it' business is really getting on my nerves."
Jared blinked in surprise. Then his face settled back into harder lines. "Because of the body you wear?"
"Because of me," I hissed.
"By whose definition?"
"How about yours? In my species, I am the one that bears young. Is that not female enough for you?"
That stopped him short. I felt almost smug.
As you should, Melanie supposed. He's wrong, and he's being a pig about it.
Thank you.
We girls have to stick together.

I can't remember the exact line but when they are talking about the strange names that the souls have they say something about all of those weird names being mixed in with the "Jim's and Pam's" ... Woot Woot Steph loves The Office :)

^^Yeah, the The Office reference was awesome.

But basically, my favorite quote ever is this: "I held you in my hands, Wanderer, and you were so beautiful."
I just get the chills and it makes my heart swell. Gosh, Ian is awesome. Everything he says is just love.
I'm currently looking for a banner with that quote....

OK new favorite line: "Ian didn't come. He just sat here with you-he said he didn't care what you looked like."

You. Are. Not. Leaving. Me. - Ian O'Shea

That is definately my favorite quote from The Host.
I have others, I just can't think of them right now. :D

Hmm... of course there are some great ones that people have already said, like "you. are. not. leaving. me.", and "i held you in my hand, wanderer, and you were so beautiful". And then i don't think anyone's said... oh, i wish i had my book... it's in the cave when it's raining, and jamie says that he's moving so ian has his own room, and wanda freaks out. I laugh every time  . Also when wanda says that melanie and jared kicked jamie out, but "he wasn't so young that they had to give him any excuse"... or something like that :) .

You.Are.Not.Leaving.Me pg.572

Eight full lives and I never found anyone I would stay on a planet for, anyone I would follow when they left. I never found a partner. Why now? Why you? You are not my species.

I love you
Don't say that like you are saying goodbye.
I, the soul called Wanderer, love you, human Ian. And that will never change no matter what I become. If I were a Dolphin or a Bear or a Flower, it wouldn't matter. I would always love you always remember you. You will be my only partner.

Jared is my past another life. You are my present.
And your future if you want that.
Yes, please

Of ALL of the fantastic lines in this book (and as you've all pointed out, there are TONS), the one that still affects me the most is "I held you in my hands, Wanderer, and you were so beautiful."

Yeah, everyone has already mentioned this one but I had to give Stephenie credit. Because that's got to be one of the most kick-you-in-the-gut-and-make-you-cry beautiful lines I've read. I'll admit it, I cried. I mean, really. Tearing up just thinking about it.

Go, Stephenie. Go and write your sappy little lines that make all of us weepy women out here in the real world wonder if non-fiction men will ever be as amazing as the ones we read about it books.
