@marielle, i think you are totally talking about something else then I am. Im wearing 2 braids, on both sides of my face. The way you're talking, im seeing 2 ponytails on the sides of someones head...on top. I dont wear those..

@dimber, we do have a lot of diff things, but im not sure if theres a special centre. My boss is actually going to the hopsital, to see a specialist, again, on migraines. Shes been having bad ones and her medication doesnt work.
I started having migraines at Merlijns 4th bday...im not good with headaches, and that one put me on my knees in an instant. I didn know what happened to me. The doc said, I got them from my mom..thanx mom. My mom hasnt had them since shes been on bloodpressure medicine, so i thought that might be it. But my migraines dont come from a high bloodpressure..they are usually stress or hormone related. I dont get them often though. Just a couple of times a year orso. And I always just go to bed and that helps..in the morning its just a headache and that also dissapears.

On the medicine part...ive never taken medicine for that. I dont even take asperin unless i really really cant handle my headache. Other than that...nothing, just my allergypil and -the- pil.
I havent taken anything with my concussion either, i just want to make sure that everything i feel is caused by my concussion, nuthing else.
I know sleep can cause headaches...but im a person that needs lots f sleep...i def need at least 8 hours.. i dont have much energy stored.and these last few weeks: everytime i woke up at 1 or 2 in the afternoon, my head felt a lot better. probably because sleeptime is the -only- time(and not even entirely then) that my brain gets a bit of rest.
Still, i fall asleep on the couch aswell, and that can give me a woozy feeling...sometimes a bit of headache.

*sigh* im not sure how to handle the concussion right now. Everyone i know that didnt take enough rest had headaches for yrs to come..i dont think i can handle that... but its also been almost 3 weeks...and im still not well.
Sometimes working even makes me feel a bit better, well, as long as i dont have to bend or anything.....and afterwards im exhausted. maybe im working on adrenaline..i dunno.
I'm just fed up not being able to do normal stuff...

Jasmine a bad headache once or twice a year is ok...I mean, there's no need for special medications for that. I'm on these special pills because I tend to have in some periods more than 4 headaches per month and that's the maximum limit when painkillers cause damage rather than helping. Anyway, from my experience, I can say that it's better to take a painkiller as soon as the headache start rather than waiting for it to pass without taking anything...but this is just an advice, I can understand people who try to avoid medications of any sort.

I'd better go now: I have so many things to do in the house...from next week on the baby can arrive at any moment so everything must be perfect!!!

Hello all!

Just wanted to run by for a quick sap filled post :)

I've started Reading Gives me hope and love gives me hope websites (check em out if you havnt already) and I just wanted to say - each snd everyone one of my lexily gives me hope.

To see such tight bonds of friendship, genuine feelings of love and caring, unbelivable levels of understanding and acceptance in a group of people who have never met is truly amazing to say the very least.

And to see the lengths many of us will go to to ensure we each know were loved and cared for and thought about is so humbling. It's wonderful.

Not to mention that I found one of the best things in my life right here. (yes Becca of course I mean you...lol, not that I don't but you know who I mean!)

I just wanted to say my lexily, and our love for each other gives me hope.

I love you all and am truly blessed and thankful to have each of you wonderful and unique people in my life.

Thank you.

And now HUGE group huggles! :D xxx

Thank you, Sarah for the lovely words...it's the same here though sometimes I cannot put my feelings into words because of the language barrier

MRK thank you too!!! I'm going on with making the house perfect for the arrival of the baby.

Just this morning the Tiffany ceiling lamp I purchased from England was delivered and it's simply wonderful. I can't wait to see it on in my living room. Yesterday we installed the chest of drawers for Elanor. It has a special surface on the top to change the baby after the bath...it's so cute to see all this kind of stuff in the house.

I'm so overwhelmed with the last things to do that I haven't had time to watch the new Vampire Diaries episodes yet. Are they any good? It seems so according to the comments I'm reading on facebook LOL

wow no one has posted in a few days. just wanted to stop by and say hi! I've been home all day dealing with vertigo which sucks because the only thing I could really do is sleep. My life has been really stressful with student teaching. I ended up cutting my hours at work and hopefully that will help out with the stress. I hope everyone is doing well. xoxo

Hey guys.

been lots of stuff going on recently.

the girl I've been getting closer to recently has decided to stick with her boyfriend, which is a good decision for her, because she's a bit younger than me, and I can't have any more kids, so I don't offer much of a future for people. It also takes a lot of stress out of our relationship.

My wife has moved town to one about an hour away. Means I don't see the kids during the week, but it will be good for her, give her an opportunity to do more than she's done for a while.

I've been getting a fair bit sick recently, which sux. I've already mentioned that I'm running low on iron for some undiscovered reason, have been having migraines more often, and had a cough so persistent that I broke a rib. Luckily nothing new, but all three keep persisting.

I also feel like i've been going through a few personality alterations recently, which is a little disappointing. My biggest thing is a heightened level of paranoia and mistrust in people's motives. It really sux because it's altering my perception of my friends, which I don't like.

Luckily I have insight into it, and can work on it not impacting on my life until things start getting less stressful in my life (not sure if people know, but on a level of stress, death is number 1, divorce, marriage, and new kids). No matter how well adjusted you are, stress affects you, and I'm just glad I can see how it's affecting me.

Of course a certain level of paranoia and mistrust of things is healthy, because to have none is to be naive, but it's very frustrating to see the differences in my thought patterns. that's the most important thing though - insight into your own thoughts (why you think that way, how it affects your behaviour etc) is very important in your mental health, so I'm glad I have it.

I actually had a bit of an outburst at work the other day, in that I had a bad day then went home and wrote a long letter of the things I see wrong with work. It ended up being productive because me and my bosses sat down for an hour and discussed the issues, and it allowed for a good clearing of the air.

There is of course an upside to everything - I'm appreciating the good things a lot more. My friendships are more important to me (especially with the girl mentioned above - it's like having a little sister to look out for - I give her a lot of advice with her boyfriend, and insight into his behaviour, since I have the same chromosomes . . . .), and time with the kids is spent on stuff they like to do and need to do (but may not like, such as learning).

Anyway, there's me at the moment. Enjoy!

@pharmer that really sucks, still being sick. Are they doing tests to figure out whats wrong?
Its good to see that you still have insight in your feelings....breaking up a relationship/marriage isnt a small thing, and its pretty normal that you are acting/feeling different. Hopefully, with time, itll pass. Untill then, try not to scare away your friends.
I should have known marriage is on the top 3: when arranging everything for ours..i had a very high bloodpressure..which was NOT normal for my age... LOL
JUst hang in there, and we are always here if you need a shoulder to...i mean..if you need an ear :)

Me stuff:
Still dealing with the migraines. It's like ive become this dissabled supervillain: Ive got supersight, ive always had really good sight..mb a little too good, cause my eyes can get tired if i need to concentrate to hard. Anyway...now ive got supersight, which means, everything hurts my eyes..sunlight....bright lamps...computerscreens... Its horrible. Instead of helping me, it just hurts my head and cringes my eyes.
Ive also got superhearing, i always had sensitive ears(i can hear really high tones nooone else can hear), but now...EVERYTHING hurts. Its like it pierces my skull...especially crying kids, neighbours drilling in the wall....etc.
So yeah..im a disabled supervillain..w0h00.

We went shopping yesterday, since it was a day off for me and the city had a special shoppingsunday(stores are usually closed on sunday)
Had fun with hubs, but ofcourse the busdrive gave me a killerheache. still here....

BUT, i did score some awesome stuff. LIke red long leather gloves....and a black leather coat/bolero for only 12,50 euros..later i found out its made of realt sheepsleather! also got a cute red halter top with black velvet print...some silver bug pins for my hair and clothes(so awesome..there was a a whole bug jewlery line) and sid got another starwars shirt and real Vans for only 15 euros. that was a good day!

Also having problem with my Blogger picture upload...it doesnt work properly and not being able to sit too long behind the pc, it really is a problem. LAso i got FRESH WALNUTS! *does a little dance* im almost through my first box fro my parents...but a second box, bought from someone online is coming on wednesday :)

oh and im really sick cause of the government...we r getting the worst government ever....theres this guy who is against muslims and he is getting into the government. I really dont understand how it can be possible for a racist or someone who discriniminates, which is illegal in NL, to get into the goverment. AND its going to be one that gives money to the rich and takes it from the poor. in this crisis age...its NOT going to work. Im scared of what will happen now...they are going to cut in the healtcare even more...even when we are already screwed for 400 euros per person, lots of money for pppl who dont have much is going to get taken away, rent will be going up, but ofcourse..the ppl who have expensive houses can still deduce their house. argh it makes me sooooo angry, especially at the ppl who voted for this weird goverment. The one that has screwed up the last yr will be doing so AGAIN. what is wrong with ppl?

Pharmer~ I can't believe you're still not well! I hope you start feeling better soon! As for the girl, sometimes it takes someone like her to help us transition and thankfully it all seemed to have ended on friendly terms. As a parent, I feel for you about being away from the kids...hopefully everything will resolve itself for the best!

Janny~ Sorry you aren't feeling well either :( But I'm glad you got to get some cool stuff on your super shopping day!!

Sarah~ I'm happy you feel that way! The Lex has brought some really great people in my life...

Some news...A couple months ago I was actually hired to illustrate a children's book which should be out in November!! it was an interesting process, because I'm not used to drawing someone else's ideas...but the author and I seemed to be in synch, so it worked really great!! This is the debut book of a series, and I'm going to stay on as the illustrator if this first book does well and the publisher decides to move forward with the rest of the series...so that's promising!!

Some of you may know I have a sister that I don't keep in contact with...well she called me on my birthday and it was the first time I had spoken with her in six years. She sounded really good and it was (and is) a very weird experience for me. She is going through some BIG transitions (rehab etc...) and I have been trying to help her through some stuff...and just be there to listen....it's been very...weird...lol

If you noticed, I separated my facebook into two accounts...well some "friend" drama has been occuring and I am getting a lot of people telling me different things...so to make my life a bit more drama free...I just deleted the whole account. I just wanted to let the Lexily know not to take it personally...I'm not trying to erase any of you to be mean...it's just a few specific people and they know what's going on...so...I guess that's all I really want to say about that.

Question: have any of you seen that new Owls movie...Guardians of...whatever...I'm really wanting to see it!!
And what are you all planning for Halloween this year?!?

I haven't been on the Gen Y forever! I've been reading, but I've had nothing to add my life is school, internship, campus movie programming, sleep. Very little interesting fun time. I will update you all on some funny stories when I'm not so exhausted.

Pharmer - Feel better soon! That is crazy being the sick for so long. I'd be so uncomfortable it would drive me crazy.

Jasmine - you need to feel better soon too! I love all you shopping stories and finds - I get to live through you haha :D

Misty - That is great about the book illustrating! It sounds so exciting. You will have to tell us more when it gets closer to coming out so we can all go to the bookstore with friends and say we know this illustrator :D
I saw the Owl movie with my sister on Saturday - we both enjoyed it (she is 16 btw). We went to see it because she read a bunch of the books the film is based off of when she was little. We were also the oldest people in there without kids haha, but it was worth it. Only 90 minutes too, so it was a perfect length.

So that was my drop in. Must go sleep so I can do some last minute studying for my forensic anthropology test tomorrow - so many different features on every bone my head is spinning!
I will bring stories and self updates next time, promise!
