Hey folks!

Sorry for my very prolonged absence!! Been so busy and have no time :( Makes me sad!!

Anyways, no time to actually catch up on posts, but just a wee update on what’s been happening with me (among other things)! Sort of a bit of a rant coming up... sorry in advance! LOL.

My car is breaking... Broke down the other week (on the MOTORWAY! So I was one of those people standing on the hard shoulder waiting on the breakdown people – embarrassing!). Turns out it’s not actually proper broken, but it sure is getting there. So... I need a new car! But since I own my car just now, but can’t afford to just buy a car outright, I’m trying to figure out how much I can afford to start paying for a car a month on finance. It’s really stressful, cos I want to get a pretty good one, fairly new, and cheap as can be LOL. Plus I think all car sales people are hiding stuff from you, so I am getting confused about that a lot!

Also, I got made permanent at my job the other day! So that’s good! But it’s just soooo far away... So since petrol is so expensive just now, and obviously I use a lot of it, that’s been on my mind a lot too lately. I just wish it was closer!

We have been in the garden a lot (still!). The weather keeps changing, so we can only do little bits at a time. It is getting there though LOL. I’ll post a pic when it finally is finished!

Also, been thinking a lot about our wedding. I need a dress!!! Like, kinda nowish! I am starting to freak out that I don’t have one yet... went to see some today, and some were really nice, but I still don’t think I have found “the one”... I generally like either the top part, or the bottom, but never together. Aaah!

END OF RANTS! LOL.

Good stuff coming up: !

The kids were over last weekend, and we really did have a lovely time! Went swimming, and it’s the first proper time that BabyE hasn’t been wary (before, she always wanted to go, but when we got there, she would get scared cos it’s so busy). She really enjoyed herself, and so did the 2 boys. And so did my bf & I! :D

Yesterday, we spent the day at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We just kind of wandered around all day, had a nice dinner etc and then at night we went to see an act called Evelyn Evelyn, which has one of my favourite singer/songwriters Amanda Palmer in it. She is super nice, and we got to see her afterwards and stuff. Was a really good night :)

I have to go to bed now, but I really do hope to come back tomorrow night and try to catch up with you guys! Take care Sisters!

Some Rob Love for you all!

Hi, Girls! I have felt horrible most of the weekend, but I have done what needed to be done anyway. The baby shower yesterday was cute. My step-niece is due in late September, and the babies weigh about 2.5 lbs each right now. She's gained 40 lbs so far. I didn't stay at the pool party very long. I ate a bite of lunch and headed home to lay on the couch the rest of the day. This morning I did my service at the cafe', went to the 11 a.m. worship service, and then went to buy groceries. I made a great dinner of roasted tomatoes and couscous that I put with some sushi I bought this afternoon. Now, I'm just relaxing until bed time. The Robitussin I've taken today seems to be helping clear up some of the crud in my chest. I feel much better tonight than I did yesterday. Anyhoo... I am hoping I'll be able to get on a schedule this week and get back to doing regular posts. Meanwhile, I miss you girls! *MWAH!*

Happy Sunday, Girls!
It's been quiet around here!

What a Cutie!

Today I had a lovely outing with my friend Mary. Sonny was at a couple of parties today so I was free as a bird. Mary and I went to Excelsior, a cute little town on Lake Minnetonka (it's still technically in the Twin Cities, but on the edge). We ate lunch dockside and then shopped around. The weather was perfect. I bought a few fashion items - a scarf, earrings, a shirt....

Tonise - I'm sorry you've felt so ill all weekend. I guess you must have pushed yourself to your limit last week. Here's to a more relaxing week this week.

Jaclyn
- It just hasn't been the same around here without you! Darn car problems! It is a big inconvenience and you're right - very confusing trying to decide which car to buy. Congrats on being hired as a permanent employee. How long does it take you to drive to work? At least you can actually count on that income when you think of buying a new car. I have a feeling the right dress will magically appear!

Amy
- I'm sure Caryn will share...since we're all living in a fantasy world here there can be more than enough Rob to go around!

NewJen - Is the TakeItAway sandwich shop in Charlottesville? I'd love to see you, but I'll be there less than 48 hours, so it would probably be rude to excuse myself from my in-laws to meet up with you. Another time perhaps. The Kids Are All Right- I did see your post before we watched it last night, so I was prepared. We sort of made a joke about all those sex scenes - closed our eyes and screamed, etc. I agree with what you said - not a stellar movie at all. In fact, I really objected to all that gratuitous sex. It was over the top and really took away from the true emotion of the story. It made me mad. There were just so many explicit sex scenes including the Gay porn movie which we got to see twice. Too bad because it was very good acting and an important story.

Marielle - You must be having a great Sunday because we haven't seen you here on the thread all day! Your Saturday sounded lovely - very relaxing. I hope you are rested so you have a good week at work this week. Thank you so much for Rob in Cannes. Yummilicious.

Desiree - I can't wait to see the ActionRob pics! Sorry you're having computer problems.

I'm starting to catch up on my sleep.

See you all tomorrow!

Hi Everyone!! Making good on my promise to get back here. Plus I'm too tired to be truly creative tonight. It's been a crazy busy day getting ready for school starting tomorrow. That said, notes on your posts first!! :ugeek:

Susie~ DUEL POSTING! You totally win, LOL. It sounds like I've missed a LOT going on in your life in recent weeks. Congrats on finishing and getting paid for your coursework! Congrats on the kids birthdays and achievements too. You really are a wonderful mother. :) To answer your question, the kids at the pool party the other day were ages 5 to approx. 17. On our way out I actually met another little girl named Emily, LOL. I hadn't heard her name before I posted obviously, but yes, it was quite ironic and smile inducing. Also, you will find this interesting: Later that evening I was at Target, in line to check-out, when I heard "Super-Massive Blackhole" coming from the purse of the woman in front of me. She pulled it out and sure enough, it even had an Eclipse edition Team Edward phone cover on it. When she ended her call, I told her she was a woman after my own heart and we chatted for a bit. Sadly, she was from Michigan and was only in town for vacation. For a second, I thought I may have met my own Target Twi-Sister. ;)

Tracy~ Yes, the kids are looking forward to school. LilRob especially. He will be starting pre-K for the first time. :)

Rachel~ Congratulations X1000!!!! I'm so happy for you, but completely understand where you are right now. It is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you're starting over, but yes, the guilt free Mom-time does come around eventually. Enjoy the Mom's Day Out program. I loved that when my eldest was little. I couldn't find one for my youngest unfortunately, so tomorrow will be his first real experience with regular care outside of the home. Exciting! (I hope.) Oh, and have I scared you away from Arms yet? I know you're super-busy, I'm just worried it was too much to ask of you. Especially with a new baby on the way.

Ann Marie~ Hi, girlie!! I loved Rise of the Planet of the Apes as well, and thought James Franco was brilliant. He's not just good looking, but what he did with his character, and pulling off the level of performance that he did with a CGI ape as his co-star? It was really good.

Amy~ You took your laptop on or near a boat?? You're brave. I'd be too nervous. LOL. What will I do with my free hours? Probably write or pay bills. I may do the grocery shopping with one of those mornings too. It's much easier without the munchkins, isn't it?

NewJen~ *le sigh* on the dream. Kisses? Really? I usually wake up from any dreams of that sort before it gets good, LOL!! I loved what you said about indie films, by they way. This part made me laugh out loud: "Luckily those indie artistic movies usually require actors to take off their clothes." Too funny... and true. ;)

MissP~ Feel better, sweetie. I myself have been fighting off a cold for a few days. Now Lil' Lady has a fever and I'm actually debating sending her to school sick for the first time ever. But it's the first day!!! I don't want her to miss the first day! I'm thinking sending a note, some Purell for her to carry with her, and maybe dropping by at lunch to check on her. I just feel guilty about the other kids! :?

Desiree~ We were also posting at the same time when I started this. Can't wait to see Action Rob when you get it sorted out. How is your daughter doing with him now?

Marielle~ My son was actually the one who pointed out that there was a boy named Jacob at the pool party, LOL!! Yeah, it was crazy... did you see I told Susie there was an Emily there as well?? I so wanted someone to giggle with me over it, LOL!!

Jaclyn~ Hey, pretty lady!! Car trouble = :( But I think I (personally speaking) that I found something that's even more annoying than a car breaking down. The WASHING MACHINE breaking down!! Gah... I hate having car trouble, but having a busted washing machine the weekend before the start of a new school year, might just be a bigger inconvenience, LOL!! So... I'll commiserate with you. I'm seriously afraid to find out how much it will cost to fix it come tomorrow. :worried:

Everyone else!! Hi!

I'm sorry for not having been around much the last few weeks. After we put our dog down (she went peacefully, thanks for those who asked) I was busy trying to be brave for my kids and my husband. I'd had days to cry and prepare myself beforehand though, so while it was devastating to see her go, there was also an acceptance. I sort of threw myself into writing and playing with my kids afterwards, and we were either at the pool or one of the waterparks almost all day, every day for the next week or two. I spent my nights writing. The house was neglected. (LOL) Other than that, we've been pretty boring around here. No more trips or anything exciting, though we do live in the vacation capital of the world, so there have been plenty of things for us to do right here at home.

So, as school begins tomorrow, and I have to get up at 6am for the first time in a few months, I guess I better sign off. I have to check the weather channel anyway. From what I hear, Christina and I will be expecting either a Tropical Storm or a Hurricane later in the week. Between that and Lil Lady being sick, we're off to a stellar beginning for 2011-2012! Wish us luck!!!

EDIT:: I've decided to add a little refreshment for you. You know, as a reward for actually reading any of my ramblings. ;)

Hey girls…

It’s Monday again!!! Grrrr… I’m wishing the week was over already!!!

Anyway, yesterday I had planned to go and be with my aunt, uncle and grandpa… I haven’t seen my grandpa in forever so we made arrangements to spend Sunday afternoon and stay eat at their place… Guess what, No grandpa!!! He decided he had to go to a birthday party in The Hague, while we were at his place at the other side of the country!!!
I’m happy he is still capable of travelling around and doing what he likes but this was very annoying…

It’s has been a quiet around here…

Tracy, I love those outtakes… they are so nice but I’m still waiting for outtakes of the last VF shoot… we still haven’t seen any of it…

Jaclyn, I’m sorry about your car…don’t you have a family member who knows a lot about cars? It’s always useful to ask them for help in selecting or looking for a new car.
You know, good wedding dress shops can alter the dress for you, if you select two dresses from the same designer it’s often possible that they could mix the top and bottom part together…I hope you find one soon…

Susie, I have lurked around here yesterday… but there weren’t that many posts so I didn’t feel the need to make a late night post because that in general means that I have nothing to post about in the morning. So I decided to have a tv evening with my bf… we have watched ‘who do you think you are’ with Sarah Jessica Parker, it was really good…do you know that program?

Ginnie, your son is already indoctrinated with the whole twilight thing!!! Hihi… good education!!!
Good luck with getting out of bed that early… I have difficulties after a weekend, I can’t imagine how hard it will be after a few weeks/months…

don't they look cute!!!

Hey girls! Literally a drive by, as I've been swamped from the word go today. This weekend was one massive bout of busy. We got to last night and I kind of looked around and went, "wait a minute...", but to no avail. I've got much more on my plate for this afternoon. But I wanted to at least let you all know that I miss you and I've been lurking if not posting. Hope everyone is well...

Marielle~ I did see that about the concert venue in Belgium. I have a feeling it made the news here because of what happened at the state fair. It's just strange how these things happen in groups. They are all in my prayers.

Amy~ You are absolutely welcome to share my Rob any time. ;)

I promise I'll do my very best to hop on later tonight and respond further.

*hugs*

Hello again - I'm back 2 days in a row! *happy dance* :D

Ok, I have a zillion pages to comment on, which I can't actually do, so some random stuff from the last couple weeks - apologises to anyone I miss etc, and if I missed something important, please tell me again!!

Amy - Hope you had a great holiday! I love that you just go away and sail your boat - sounds sooo nice!! What kind of boat is it? Where about do you go? Can you post any pics?

Tracy - I too really enjoy how Offside has short chapters that update daily. Makes it easy to read, and easy to catch up if you get behind! Are you reading any other fanfics just now?
How is your daughter enjoying middle school after a week there? That's great she gets a locker - that's not something we do here, but I always wished we did (mostly from watching American stuff on tv LOL!).

Marielle - Yay for booking your holiday! How crazy is this: my mom and dad are also going to Fuerteventura next month too!! I really love the Canary Islands. I've been to Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria & of course Tenerife. Tenerife is my favourite, but I would like to go back to Gran Canaria again one day. I hope you have a great time!!

Susie - I missed you all too!! I hope that both SonnyBoy & DaughterDear had a great birthday, and I can't believe you had an 18 & a 21 year old in the space of a couple days! Those are big birthdays here, so would have cost a fortune!! Btw, would you mind sending me that chocolate cake recipe?
Also, I haven't forgotten about those chapters (you must think I am so rubbish at reading stuff!!), I just literally have had no time to write down what I want to say and send it back... Soon Sister! :)

Caryn - How is Biggun enjoying High School? Scary stuff! I'm sure he will do totally fine though :)

Tonise - You are a very dedicated teacher & your fifth graders are lucky to have you!! I hope you feel a bit better now, and that school is going ok.

Ginnie - How did your washing machine repair go? I hope it wasn't too costly!
I too enjoyed Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and thought the CGI was great! I haven't seen the origanls, but now I really want to!

SuperJen - I love Indie movies normally too, but I have seen a few which were pretty bad... I actually have never seen The Kids are all Right yet, a pity since I thought it looked really good when it was getting shown at awards shows etc. Hopefully I will get to see it when it gets played on Sky over here.

Desiree - Looking forward to seeing the ActionRob pictures when you get a chance!!
Have you started back at school yet? How is your lil guys lip healing? Hope you are doing good Girl!

Everyone else - HELLO THERE! *waves to you all*

I'm off now to grab some chocolate & crisps - nice and unhealthly LOL!

Bye!
