david kinda seems like CH to me.
He just seems weird, and like he won't capture the essence of Eclipse.

As soon as I heard that CW was doing NM, ive been nothing but excited.

I got a weird vibe from CH, and now DS.. but not CW
So I dunno...

The first thing I did when they announced Chris Weitz as the director of New Moon was hit SM's webpage. Before the cyberink was even dry on the posting of his name, SM had released a statement giving him her full support, along with the letter he wrote promising us he totally cufking gets it and he won't let us down.

The news of David Slade's asension to the director's chair for Eclipse has been out almost as long as our shiny new # 11 thread here folks. And, Stephenie's site is nothing but silence, the last update still the one about the stupid lawsuit rumors.

That fact worries more than ANY other. :?

Especially if New Moon truns out to be as good as it is looking, I will not be able to take any screwing up of Eclipse. And, of course, the other worrisome factor; Melissa Rosenberg is still writing the screenplay. Did they not learn from some of the ridiculous Vulgar Language is Ugly she put in Twilight. "It wouldn't be like drinking your blood for instance." Huh? What? Excuse me? Anyone, ANYONE who has read any portion of the saga knows that Edward would never ever so blithely discuss hurting Bella in any way. Grrrrr!! The whole "Do you really want to taste?" outtake. Thank gods they left that as an outtake. Again with the absolutely never!!!!!

I can't take this at the moment. I am returning to my happy place in hopes that maybe Rob will be able to sooth this savage beast...
Please do not disturb Caryn in her meditation sanctuary...
I am sorry if I got anyone else upset as well.
I offer this as my penance

Caryn, thanks for your offer to appease us. Since there's no more room with you and Rob in the corner, I'll gladly push him up against the wall. 8-)

No news about Eclipse and David Slade on Stephanie Meyer's website...that is very worrisome. And the combination of David Slade and Melissa Rosenberg just seems too screwy. At least Chris Weitz has been able to help correct some of Melissa's screenwriting missteps (by bringing back the scene where Carlisle stitches up Bella, for example).

Twilight was already almost too edgy and indie for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I love low-budget independent films...I just think Twilight could have been so much more. Who knows what David Slade and Melissa Rosenberg might do to Eclipse? I'm worried they'll lose the essence of the romance by focusing primarily on the darkness, angst, and horror aspects of Eclipse.

I'm completely with you Caryn! I agree with everything you said. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they won't screw it up completely. *sigh*

Tracy - Yes, I too am afraid that they will focus too much on the darkness, angst, and horror aspects of Eclipse and completely disregard the need that Edward and Bella have for eachother and the struggle they go through to get to the end as a whole.

I think I'll go to my happy place now...on the floor with Rob.
I dare you not to smile... No matter how worried about Eclipse you are, that man's goofy laugh/smile has to make it better. :P

Totally de-lurking for a sec here even though I told myself I wasn't going to post til my houseguests are gone. The RobCrack & LexCrack are strong, my friends.

I totally hear what you are saying... and if we don't hear anything from SM at all about it, I may begin to be worried. But, I've kind of gone to my Zen place about it. Even before CW was announced for New Moon, I'm pretty sure SM had mentioned before that About a Boy was one of her favorite films (am I making that up?) so she obviously had very strong opinions about it. She's obviously proceeding more cautiously with DS -- maybe she just doesn't know what to think yet. I've seen neither Hard Candy nor 30 Days so I can't offer my opinion on this guy -- maybe that's where SM is, too. Actually, now that I think about it more, it could be that she will never see either of those movies (b/c they are rated R. Do I remember correctly that she doesn't watch movies that are rated R?)

PLUS, the fact she acknowledges she should have commented on the Book Babe event by now (something that seems very near & dear to her) tells me that she's really busy. I'm sure her reps pretty much made her comment on the lawsuit thing, or else she was tired of getting asked about it.

***
On another, far shallower note.

I, too, was addicted to SbtB. Worst/best show ever. I was TOTALLY in to the College Years eps when Kelly cut her hair & Zack totally had a hairsprayed, unmoving bouffant. Anyone else watch the early years with Miss Bliss?

AND Pacey >>>>>> Dawson. GREAT addition to your list, Julie.

What do you guys think of this article?

"RPattz continued with 'now it’s funny, you can’t even get through to people on the phone. They won’t even let you ring people up. I can’t even ring down to reception and say let (visitors) up. I have to literally go down and carry them.'"

I do believe he is putting up with a lot of crap and crazyness, but I don't think he'll 'go over the edge'.

I really do hate it when someone from day shift has to come in for any period of time. It totally cuts off my interweb time. Thus cutting off my RobCrack time. I am not amused. Thank god I brought New Moon with me. (<-- see Caryn, I'm being a good Cullenist! It can happen!)

Nikki - Oh. My. God. I am literally crying from laughing so hard. This computer is so slow that the .gif moves literally frame by frame. At first all I can hear is the "spunkasaurus" noise in my head cause it looks like he's about to eat the microphone. Then at one point he looks like a rabbit. I almost peed myself. Thank you for that. I so needed it. And I do hope you're feeling better.

Caryn - After seeing both "Hard Candy" and "30 Days Of Night", I agree with you. It will be extremely dark. While I do like both of those movies, I fear the romance will be lost. And the fact that SM hasn't said anything yet also makes me nervous.

Lunch time is over so I have to go back to work. Boo! But before I go....

Hand porn that I haven't seen in a while. I just now noticed...someone brought their laptop? Wtf?
Does the Pattinson have an itch? Don't know why I'm just now noticing how he has his right hand placed. Lol.
Is this the same shirt he wore on ET?
Just because I can.
