Michael Sheen is one of my all time favourite actors & one of the best working atm and I thought he was great as Aro. Any teeny niggles I had were to do with the script, not his portayal. He was perfect for Aro.

For those who haven't seen it, here's Michael on Top Gear in Novmember, just after he flew back to London after the New Moon premere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8kfUPPJZhA

And the outtakes from filming the "Star in a Reasonable Priced Car" feature: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cT0iE6CzCSw

On BBC America, you can see that whole episode of Top Gear next Monday night a 9:00, though the interview was edited due to time constraints compared to the original BBC 2 version, and I felt that you guys should see the whole thing if you want it. Pretty good interview, and not a half bad laptime around the track(I believe that it's in or near the overall top ten on their lap board).

In most ways, Michael Sheen is perfect. He plays the part in a way that is pretty disturbing and that fits with what I have of Aro in my head. He's slightly eccentric, with a lust for the life he has. He's excited to find new souvenirs and protects what he feels needs to be protected. All in all like a said ever so slightly disturbing.

The only problem I have with it is I keep seeing Tony Blair (when he played him in the film The Queen) when he's on screen, and I keep expecting him to morph into Blair

Who thinks he looks like a young Hugo Weaving and Jason Issacs all rolled in one?

I have one thing to say.

You think Aro is scary? Try Michael in a really tight TRON suit looking David Bowie. That's scary.

And it should be said that Mike's back as Aro in BD part 2. I've seen him in Frost/Nixon and New Moon, and is impressive in both films. I also saw him on Top Gear a while back, and he seems in person to be kind and witty. No wonder why in England and America he's an actor in demand.

^^^That was really good news. If for some reason he wouldn't have been back for BD I would have been TICKED. He was AMAZING as Aro!! For me he made the Volturi scene. I haven't seen any of his other movies (I might see the new Tron. Not sure though.) But I loved him as Aro. To me he is Aro.

A re-run of it was on the BBC last night...I had so much fun watching him....I honestly can't believe he can go from the joking guy to Aro in a short make-up session...it's unbelievable...

Yes, he is such a versatile actor! I was surprised to learn a couple of days ago that he voiced the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.
I enjoy A LOT the way he portrays Aro, he makes him so creepy.
