Do you think Rosalie ever quilted or did any of that kind of stuff for anybody and if she did what did she make?
I don't think she would have. She's too "high up" for that kind of stuff. If she needed a quilt, she would buy it with her excessive money. If she needed food, a maid would prepare it for her. Rosalie's family has always been that way and I don't think she would have changed recently. The only "handiwork" I can see her doing is possibly sewing, so that she could design her own clothes or something, but that's more Alice.

I haven't been posting on the lex as much, but I won't let us go dead. And what is happening with the TNT? Whose car is that? *panic* Ah, go ahead.

I don't think she would have. She wouldn't have thought that there was any need for those kind of things, being so rich. If you needed something, you would have bought it, and Rose probably already had everything she needed. She was too caught up in her life to do those kind of things for anyone. Also, maybe she didn't do the typical 'women's jobs' because she wanted to prove that she wasn't just a normal woman who could be walked over.

I think that Rose chose Vera as a friend because she was vein. She knew that she was beautiful and therefor she wouldn't surround herself with those whomight destract others from herself.
I also think that deep down Rose chose Vera as a friend because Vera was able to live the life that Rose wanted, being poor Vera could marry ofr love while Rose could not. Vera, from Rose's eyes, had a simpler life, one, deep down, she wanted for herself.

Just saw the Team Leah invite. I'll definitely try and make it, hopefully I'm not on holiday on that day.

She would have had what she called 'friends', but I don't think she ever had a real friend. Mainly aquaintances (sp), as she was probably more concerned about her place in society than having good friends. They'd probably be a bit like her, vain and a bit closed-off. Vera was mentioned, and I agree with Jo that she chose her as a friend because she had the life she wanted. It would bring her a bit closer to that life. Maybe she was mainly just interested in what they had, not who they were, although I can see her having proper talks with Vera about how she felt, sometimes.

Im back from the wonderful world of nature, otherwise known as camping! & Im glad; the bugs were about to drive me insane! they were ginormous, and REALLY gross!! But other than that it was really fun this thread has just quieted down a ton... Waaay too much for my comfort!

I remember the book saying Rose was the most beautiful woman in her town (next to Esme) by a long shot, so I think her friends would have all been beautiful, but nowhere near as beautiful as her. She wouldn't have felt any competition from them. & she surely would have mixed with only the highest class. & I think in Eclipse it said something about Vera being upper/middle class, but she surprised everybody by marrying a lower class. That's if I remember correctly, but other than Vera I think all of Rose's friends would be very vain, shallow, and wealthy, just like she was.

Welcome back, Ted! I know what you mean, nature's good, but getting home is nice too!
Did Esme live in the same town as Rosalie? I can't remember reading that, but I haven't reread the books for a surprisingly long time.

Thanks for the welcome back, Jenni! Im glad Im not the only one that is dependant on the wonders of modern technology (like bug spray!)

& Esme lived in the same city as Rose when her, Edward, and Carlisle moved there for a couple years. Carlisle worked at the hospital but otherwise kept to himself and Ed/Esme, though Rose mentioned seeing them around a few times. She pointed it out because she was angry that Esme was prettier than her

As a human they would be very vain things, like meeting somebody more beautiful than her or having her family drop in social rank. As a vampire I think her biggest fear would be losing Emmett, and after that the rest of the Cullens.

Ted, bug spray is a very good invention! I love technology, even this computer that seems to enjoy playing up. It knows what angers me. XD That makes sense. And then that's how Carlisle found her and changed her - I remember.

As a human, I agree with the vain things. Something bad happening to her, someone being more beautiful than her, or her family losing money or their place is society. As a vampire, she'd be afraid of accidently slipping up and drinking someone's blood, or her family getting hurt.
