^^^ maybe that's why. I think CH tried so hard to visually get it right but she focused on the little things too much. Like I don't think I'd care if they had the contacts etc. but I do care that they didn't do the meadow scene the way it should've been done.

She did it in other movies, so it's probably not that...imo

I'm glad other people were annoyed by the contacts too. I really hope they fix that in NM. Sure they saved money by not using special effects for the vamps eyes, but I think that was a mistake. The colored contacts were too dark for both the gold and red shades. And yeah, the contact lines...don't get me started.

Their eyes are supposed to be the most pronounced feature. Or at least that's how I think of them. The contacts didn't portray that at all -- they just looked like a weird brownish color.

Great minds think alike at times. Like many of us have said, the red was way too dark. I've seen a tv show with a smaller budget then Twilight who had to use contacts and did a way better impression with the red contact lenses.

All vampires look the same except for their eye colour. Most of the good ones have a goldish colour, with a few red eyes being good. The rest of the red eyed vampires are bad. That's how the audience can tell them apart. The movie made them way to dark.

I didn't have much problem with the golden eyes, I mean, I guess the contact lines are annoying, but I didn't even notice them until it was pointed out to me by my mate sitting next to me, I was already like, gaga with just being able to SEE IT on the screen.

But I do agree with the red eyes, the Nomads didn't look vampy enough, because they weren't as crazy beautiful as they should have been, they definitely shoudl have made their contacts like WOAHHH REDNESS!

MY main worry for the movie is the werewolves. Or shape-shifters. Or whatever you prefer to call them.

Summit CANNOT make that look cheesy. It would just totally ruin it for me.

My personal theory about the red eyes: Whoever decided the burgundy colored contacts they used in the movie were the best was trying to make them seem more realistic, whereas the bright red ones we have in our minds ARE the more realistic, because that's how SM wrote them. And Twilight is a fairytale, not a reality. Why should they take little liberties with details they probably saw as minor in an effort to make the movie more realistic? We love the fairytale, we want the fairytale, we expect to see the vamps with bright red eyes that are shockingly obvious. Because that's how it's supposed to be.

I personally didn't notice the contact lines the one time I was lucky enough to go see the film, but I guess we all knew they were wearing them, so I think I can forgive Summit (or whoever) for that tiny overlooked detail. ;)

I also really hope the werewolves are all well-cast and not ridiculous looking.

Oh, and Rob's lipstick? I mean, really?! Totally ridiculous, draws attention away from his gorgeousness, and brings to mind strange visions of crossdressers....not what I want to have floating in my head while I'm trying to enjoy the love story.

That's not asking for too much, right?

If asking for New Moon to be better than Twilight in any way, shape, or form is asking for too much then we are in some serious trouble. ha ha.

Well, the non-veggie vamps do have sort of burgundy-ish eyes when they're hungry. But didn't they say they had just eaten? So then in the baseball scene they should've had red red eyes. Hmm. Maybe we'll get to see some Volturi with crazy-red eyes.

Plus the plaster they caked their handsome faces in UUGGHHH!!

I hope Summit hire a new make-up artist for NM.
