Well after reading the movie guide, not Catherine's, and hearing all about them shooting with two different cameras to alter the speed, I'm convinced they can do something similar with height. Maybe shoot Taylor with a vertical shot and kristen with a horizontal, I'm not director so I have no idea, but I'm sure there are ways without Taylor having to resort to Disco Wear LOL

I think they have to. Thats how Edward finds out that Bella jumps off the cliff right? I think I'm remembering it right anyway. If they cut that there would be no reason for Edward to go to Italy at all So it would cut off like a biiiig chunk of the movie.

Well we don't see the conversation between Edward and Rosalie except in Stephenie's outtakes so I'm not too concerned about it.

I think the phone conversation could work out the same in the book. We see Bella and Jacob in the kitchen argueing, then they almost kiss, the phone rings and Jacob picks up and tells Edward that Charlie is at the funeral, then Alice flits into the room declaring that it wasn't Carlisle on the phone it was Edward and he's heading to Italy because he thinks Bella is dead. I think the phone call between Edward and Rosalie is unnessary, plus we want the emotion to stick so i don't think we should be seeing Edward at all until Italy besides the filtering images.
