Kymberli, congrats on the new level! +600! Way to go!
Another term I dislike is limpid eyes. I first found it funny on the BBC show
Keeping up Appearances (I like the show because my mother is Hyacinth Bucket - pronounced 'Bouquet'). I thought it was just some thing they did for the show, nope I have run across "limpid eyes" several times now and I just can't take it seriously. For those, like me, that need to look it up, limpid means clear or as copied from Dictionary.com:
- lim⋅pid
/ˈlɪmpɪd/ [lim-pid]
–adjective
1. clear, transparent, or pellucid, as water, crystal, or air: We could see to the very bottom of the limpid pond.
2. free from obscurity; lucid; clear: a limpid style; limpid prose.
3. completely calm; without distress or worry: a limpid, emotionless existence.
There you go! When I hear limpid, clear or calm is NOT the mental image I get. I think limpid eyes are more like weak, hooded (gasp) or having cataracts. I think it is the sound of the word...
