OK, Sunshine fanclub coming up! Cheap a$$ sci fi that looks better than the super expensive stuff? check. Danny Boyle? check. Awesome actors like Cillian Murphy, Michelle Yeoh, Chris Evans, etc? Check. It was so beautifully done, and I have no desire to go into space after that! LOL

Obes, what Paula said about the bicarb. It's baking soda in the US I think? There's baking powder and baking soda. And I KNOW, those cupcakes call to me, and the new fic has new yummy flavours every post and oooohhhhh me want! Although I'm about to nom down on a vanilla fairy cake so it's all good for me!

And LMAO about 2 days in Paris = Hilton Porn. I assure you it's not! Parisian woman brings American boyfriend to Paris for a few days before they go back to NY where they live. Cultural awkwardness and relationship drama ensues. James says he knew I'd like it right away cuz they talk and don't do that much and it's about personal growth instead of plot. Yup! My kind of film! My fave part is where the guy sends some other American tourists the wrong way cuz they all are wearing Bush 04 tshirts (sorry if you vote that way, but it's a great moment), but you couldn't blame him, they were there for the Dan Brown tour lol.

Now I'm picturing my nose with a cork sticking out of it, to be honest I prefer my wine cork in a bottle or out of it for me to drink! And yup, it's my job to know the different ways things are spelled, I'm excitement city here ;)

To quote Weeds season 5 (Meg knows where I'm going with this) Duggar sex is like "throwing a hot dog down a hallway" LMAO
And seriously, WHERE is the WA epilogue?!?

Have fun torturing the ruthicon!
I'm off to bed, after eating that cupcake.

Also NINNA, happy maternity leave!!!! Woohoo!

So I'm finally going to finish my story about the weekend before last. It has been a really busy week starting from last friday.

First, the survey:
Name: Ally (which isn't short for anything, that's my full name plain and simple)
Year you graced us by being born: 1989 (am I the youngest regular poster in the gen y?)
Locale: South Carolina
Slave to da man? Nope. I am a junior in college with no job - the quintessential economic burden
Spawn? Nope
Doing anyone? Nope - I wish I could find a guy on this female dominated campus
Tats/Piercings: My earlobes, that's it. Needles scared the criznap out of me, so it's a miracle I got those done
Attracted to: physical attribute preference changes day to day, but I like guys that are smart, witty, sarcastic, good sense of humor, general nice guy, guys that are passionate about something - especially artistic (I've got a lil weakness for musicians  )
Turn offs: Macho guys, arrogance, narrow-mindedness, lazy, no hobbies, no independent nature
TV Watching: The Big Bang Theory (new season just started), GLEE, GREEK, Project Runway, Entourage
Reading: Seeing Red (an Alice in Wonderland sci-fi redo trilogy), Glass Book of Dream Eaters Vol. 2, need to pick up a copy of Catching Fire - it is killing me to not have read it yet. I loved the Hunger Games.
Favorite movie of all time: Impossible for me to choose an all time fav. but 2 that I always come back to are Casablanca and the Heathers >> 2 opposite sides of the spectrum haha

So my Saturday before last that was oh so crazy - A little lengthy so feel free to skip if you don't care:

Saturday was my team (which is really a pair including myself) was in charge of the juggler that was coming - we are talking serious juggling and glow in the dark stuff. Well I had to be there at 4pm to meet him, this is after the out to 1am dinner with my entertainment crew and the band the night before. I was exhausted and running late (because I had also volunteered at the animal shelter that morning and it was crazy there). So, I stood outside waiting for him 20 minutes til 4 realizing I didn't know what parking area - there are 2 sides to park on- he was going to. Kelly shows up and we decide to go inside the building to see if any other members are there and luck would have it the juggler (Mark from here on) was already there and set-up. This made me feel like an idiot for not being there to help my act, but he was cool because he knew he'd gotten there earlier than he told us. He is practicing and Kelly and I go across the street to our office to get snacks and the weird supplies (fuel, acetone, apple, banana, wine glass) that he asked for. Eric and Dana show to help and when we return to the stage area we all come to the realization that the air isn't on in this building and it is killer hot. We call campus police to ask them to fix it and they try to wimp out by saying it will take to long for it to get working & we will be out before then - we inform them we will be there until 11pm and they finally agree to come over. Kelly and I drive to my house to get fans to hold us over til then. Meanwhile no one else shows up to help like they were supposed to. Mark teaches us to juggle while we wait for the tect crew, which shows up at 6. Tech crew comes and everyone starts showing up. Mark tells us he plans of using a fog machine, which we know will set off the fire alarm, so we call campus police again to let them know not to send fire trucks (you see where this is going). Show goes great except for the fog at the end - it sets off the alarm at the very end of the show. We have to hurry and call campus police again (this is like the 7th time that night) to make sure they remember about the fog machine. Finally the alarm gets turned off and Ashley (the chair to my vice-chair) and I tell everyone we are going across the street to put away the coolers and get Mark's check. When we come back everyone has disappeared. We find out that they have all gone to dinner without telling us and the people we invited to dinner got ditched (there are only supposed to be 5 people going to dinner and they get chosen based on work put into the show). Ashley gets those ditched and we head over to eat, only to find they have started ordering without the heads of the event, not saved us, the event coordinators, seats, and too many have invited themselves along. Poor Ashley got a talking to for something she didn't even have control over. It was a crazy night that I was already too tired for.

This past weekend:
I went on a bonding retreat with my entertainment crew. It was a lot of fun; we went up to the mountains in North Carolina and stayed in this old house. There were 35 of us BTW and it was crazy. We did team building/bonding sessions during the day and played games at night. There were some Apples to Apples games, 2am Twisters, and Sardines (backwards hide-n-seek) in the dark at midnight. We also had a "talent show". My group put together a montage of 90s-00s music and danced. If you look under "pictures of Ally" on Facebook you should see some. It was hillarious and everyone loved our routine. After all the happiness we had "group therapy" as I call it. We sat around and basically spilled all our business to everyone. It was a cry-fest. We were all sharing the worst moments/feelings we had. All in all it was a great weekend and I enjoyed it - wish I could have stayed there instead of heading back to class.

Don't know what else to add other than I got a haircut. It is about 5 inches shorter than in my FB profile pic. I love it, much nicer than the long mess.

I'll start making better posts now that I've got caught up on my stories. I ♥ my Lexily.

Alice and wonderland was one of my favorite books growing up and I think I would love to read a remake of it.

OK, so I think McMegs or Obes were talking about nose piercing and if it feels like boogers? I guess it's noticeable for a little bit, but it disappears right away, same like when you put on a ring on a finger for the first time and it itches for a few days then it's normal to have jewellery there (or jewelry if you're american). Except seeing as it's a hole in your bod it takes the healing time too. I started out with the bone piercing which is just straight and has an enlarged end to keep it from coming out, but as soon as it was healed I switched to a corkscrew cuz that just seemed to fit better. Except I found the metal ones are too big, so I use bioplast, which I recommend to anyone! It has give so it bends around your flesh instead of your flesh bending around it, so it aids healing (I used it when a piercing in my ear went insane a few months ago, helped it heal right up without losing the hole).
I had the straight piercing thing with the bigger end on it aswell. But it was too long for me, so it tickled the inside of my noce constantly. Which made me sneeze constantly. So i switched it with a silver earring that was bent in the middel to you get an 90 degree angle. I always wear earring in my nose, they are easy to take out or put it, and they stay in well enough when you want them. Also, you get to choose from way more designs adn you can make it to fit your own nose. You can make the inside as ling as you want to.

My nose healed pretty fast, and i didnt even pierce it properly. It was done with a lill handheld thingy that just pushes it through your nose. Kinda like the oldfashioned earringgunes, but with a lot less pressure on it.

Im not sure what or who a Dugger is, and i think im pretty happy now knowing.

nothing much to tell from this side of the world:
Its fresh walnutseason and i dont have ANY yet. *cries*. Im beginning to feel anxious, so i started searching online for ppl who sell them. i want them, and i want them NOW. Theres only so much days you can get them, and i have to eat enough to last me a whole yr. *sigh*

in 2 weeks sid and i will be together for 6 yrs officially :)

we are thinking about buying a lill bath, one where you can ''sit' in, instead of a big one, which wont fit in our overcrowded vathroon(the washer is in there aswell). luckely we had some coupons/giftcertificates for our weddinganniversary and bdays, so we wont have to pay much for it. i only get half a paycheck this month, because i was sick for 2 weeks. gonna be a tight month, and because of that, next month will probably be aswell.

in 1,5 weeks we are going to get new windows in our and merlijns bedrooms. i think its doubleglass, the company that we rent the house from pays it all. But it always bugs me to have ppl like that in my house, they always break something.

my sisterinlaw had her 3D sonogram(?) but the lill devil didnt cooperate, so they have to get back someday. they now have a dvd full of blurry things that are supposed to be feet, a face, etc. we did see his balls though. too bad...id rather get a girl in the family.

cant wait to have all the xmasproducts in the store they are sooooo nice. i want to have them all(well almost). thats why we want the bath aswell.

well, thats about it i guess..
hope you all have a great weekend!

Nope, I saw Mel as a butterscotch tanned light blond, lean and with strong legs.

I think Hillary Swank would be a poor choice. I also saw Wander as you did.

PS, is that you in your avatar?

Obs is back and she is wondering----Does anyone else think that maybe movie trailers give away too much of a film? For instance, Ray, who has not read New Moon, said "So that one dude tries to nip her, the other pale dude leaves her, she gets cozy with an Indian, there's some conflict, Edward wants to die, there's something called a Volturi, and she tries to save him. Right?"

I don't think it's cool that so much was given away. Yeah, a want to squeal for the fangirl part of me that needs to see Jake and Edward shirtless, but to know the whole freaking story like that----and it's not just New Moon. Look at a lot of trailers out now----the whole movie is right there. Just sayin.

Becs brought up something freaking interesting. I was checking email this morning before heading into work, and Becs is my go-to on fanfic and smut and smut fanfic. She pointed out that while people change the characters looks all the time (i.e. Tatward) no one has ever made a fat Bella. I want a fat Bells or Belly and a Fatward. Becs had some choice description for sweet nothings Eddie would whisper to Belly regarding how her fat "mesmerizes or jiggles" while doing it. LMAO. Like I told her---there's a fic there with our names written all over that. I think if Fox can do "More to Love" shows with chunky chicks like myself, then we should do a fatward and Belly.

1) Yes, they give away too much in the trailers. For most movies, it's the case. Sux,
2) I have read at least one with an overweight bella. It's very rough though, so you might not enjoy it. If you are interested, go to fanfic, search for pharmer4, and on my profile you will see the one I am currently reading.

I have a strong feeling that this fic is a cathartic exercise for the author, and because it was not really intended for others to read, there are gaps in the narrative.

@Ally_Cat - I'm guessing that all the people who took off after the juggling don't appreciate the work put in. Did they take your reservations or something? If not, why not just take your guests somewhere else and forget about the rude people.

the second weekend - I used to love going on trips like that. I was a Rover at one point (sort of like a Scout, but older), and I used to organise camps that involved scouts, rovers and venturers (between scout and rover) from all over the region (abour 500km square). When you've got a group of about 700 kids in one place, aged from 14 to 18, camping out for a week and doing shoot, it gets pretty cool. That was about the most social I ever got in my life, and it's some good memories. It's was good to hang out, go abseiling etc, and have helped to organise it. Plus it was really great for hooking up (Australian scouting association has chicks as well as dudes).

@Jasmine - do you get any allowances for being sick? In australia, part-time employees get about 4 full days paid for being sick, and full-time workers can have up to 2 weeks (depending on your negotiating skills). Of course, if you are casual (ie, no set hours, work heaps one month, bugger all the next etc), you don't get those benefits.

Also, I'd be wary about using real silver in body piercings - it can leech into the skin and turn black (just like tarnish on silver), and may need to be surgically removed.

Anyway, I had an up-and-down last few days. Yesterday I had a migraine. Always fun. When I get a migraine, I get an aura first - for those unfamiliar with migraines, they are caused by a "neuron storm" - ie overactive brain activity in a focused region of the brain. In my case, this always affects some of my senses.

For instance, I ALWAYS have visual disturbances before the pain, with flashy sparkly lights blocking my field of vision. I usually get parasthesia as well (numbness and tingling of the skin) - in this case, it felt like my left forearm was submerged in boiling water. Lastly, for this one, I had a new part of the aura - I could smell strawberries. Very odd, but glad it was something pleasant (as opposed to numerous other things it could be).

Once all the aura cleared, I was left with the pain, which in this instance, felt like someone had jammed a knife into my eye halfway through my brain, and were twisting and scraping it in the eye socket.

Today, not so bad, I basically felt like I'd been out drinking, with headache, nausea, etc.

Also, the girl from work who attempted suicide recently has been re-admitted to hospital because she is having a hard time coping with her depression. It is affecting her perceptions and interpretations of everything she does, so that she feels like everything in her life is negative. Hopefully she'll be better soon, or at least understand the pitfalls of depression so she can cope a little better.

The good part of the last few days is that I finished another website, so I got to spend about $200 in the CD shop, which got me 12 new CDs. Of those, 7 are AC/DC onces that I never got around to buying, plus an Anthrax, Testament, I Killed The Prom Queen, Iron Maiden, and INXS cd. Anyone out there like INXS - I think Ob's would like the lead singer (other than that he's dead). Wiki Michael Hutchence.

That is all for now. Painting tomorrow.

PS - anyone else getting the very veyr very annoying Diet Coke ad on here that gets huge and bandwidthy if you roll your mouse over it? I hate it more than I hate sandals (which is mildly).

@pharmer, yeah i have silver everywhere, except the eyebrow. And yes, it turns black inside my body, always has. every earring ive ever worn. But silver is one of the things i love and my skin doesnt hate, so..*shrug*

My job isnt a permanent contract. or better said, i dont have permanent hours. one day i can work 7 hours, on another 1. Most of the time its between 4 and 6 orso. I work parttime, usually 2 days, but also when its busy, ppl cant come, etc. Im the backupgirl. ASnd i have to work an hour to get my money back for my trainticket. I dont get paid when im not there, so my salaray is only 50% this month. And its been a slow month, so even lower than 50%. Sometimes my boss pays out some buildup daysoff when youre sick, because we dont really use those(we just get the day off or switch days). But she gave me some last month, because i had vacation and my salary would be minimal. So i dont think shell do that again this month.
Oh well, nothing we can do about it. Ill just put up some clothing and stucc on the web, hopefully i can sell those. Maybe someone will finally buy my neverworn doc martens. hehehe.

Merlijn came inabout an hour ago: dad, ive got some presents for you..i forgot about them.
Sids bday was the 9th of august, hahahahaha.

About the trailers, yeah that sucks, usually you can predict the whole movie. Usually i already can without the trailer, but thats just because ive seen to many i guess.
id rather see some mysterious trailers, just teasers.

Thanks for the fic rec pharms:) I went to your page and found Branded, which I believe is the overweight Bells fic, so I added it to my must read pile. I saw the ones you are intending to read, and most all of them I think I've read. So overall, some good choices.

I finally got done with Falling For You. I didn't like this one. Gasp! Obs not into a fanfic? Well, this one was 52 chapters of Bella and Edward crying and confessing their love for each other. Ugh. I dunno. It didn't feel like it had a lot of story---just mostly "Bella started crying" or "Bella teared up". ENOUGH! As far as the fandom goes, I'm sort of like Jassy---I like my Eddie as a vamp. When you get rolling with the All Human genre, I find a lot of what pharmer found----someone wrote a fic for it to be cathartic to them, not necessarily to appeal to me. A lot of writers take their anger for the boyfriend or whatever it is that their husbands won't do and channel that into fics, and sometimes, like with this fic, it just drags. I think Wingy pointed out another pet peeve once---I hate when I'm asked to review forty times every chapter. I'm a pretty good reviewer, just because I understand the need for assurance. But just ask the once per chapter or something. So if you want a multi layered fic, sure, go read Falling For You. But it just wasn't my cup o' tea.

And to all of those, like Pharmer, who either are about to read or have read The Dominant or Submissive, know that the continuation of those stories is now up----chapter one of The Training is really good. While I do usually like vamps, this is one really well written fic.

MICHAEL HUTCHENCE WAS SO FREAKING HAWT. Seriously. I was a kid when INXS was around (which I never knew to say like In Excess, I just spelled it out) and I for some reason constantly got their music confused with Faith No More. My sis was a HUGE INXS fan, so the posters of him were EVERYWHERE, along with the revered George Michael FAITH poster. We didn't know, of course, what team he played for back then. Wouldn't have mattered I suppose.

Happy freaking Friday my peeps!

I'm so tired. Drained. I pulled out all my financials last night so I could do my annual budget. I'm a financial analyst, so I figure I should be more responsible with money lol, but I'm so lame at saving. Anyways, every year I get all of our crap out and do a yearly budget. We stick to it for the most part, but it's those car repairs and emergency things (like having a kid) that throw it out of whack. So I'm reanalyzing it now. It's nerdy. I know. I'm a planner though---so it's what I do. My goal is to one day be like my boss---he's got three kids, one income in the house and he and his family are TOTALLY FREAKING DEBT FREE. Except for the house, they owe nothing. NOTHING. Not cars, credit cards, nothing. But he's a frugal penny pincher. He has the ultimate in willpower, and I can't tell you the last time I saw the man go out to eat, go to a movie, heck----he doesn't have cable, internet or a cell phone. So while I'll never be that awesome, I feel like I should at least TRY to adopt some of his money saving habits, even if it just means using coupons more often or carpooling more, etc. Common sense crap.

Maybe I'll stop forking out to have Rpatz stalked or something lol:)

I'm starting to get ready to decorate and paint the nursery/kids room. Not thrilled with having to paint, but oh well:)

How's everyone doing? Anyone got big plans that I can live vicariously through? Who's shagging who? Who's still young enough that they don't get sleepy by nine? Anyone????

ALERT----TWILIGHT RELATED QUESTION************************

LOL...Since I almost never talk Twilight:

So it's apparent to everyone that vamps get their "super powers" from things they were good at or excelled at in human time. Going off that, what would yours be if you were turned?

I pretty much predict I would be able to crack up the tensest of situations. Maybe bring on laughter or cheer people up. Sort of like an empath, but only with humor. Because I'm freaking awesome.

How I wish my boobs were a super power.

Obs:)

@oobs, your boobs already ARE a superpower. they enthrall the men around you and take their speech away.

My superpower? No idea. could be all kinds of weird things.
Ive dreamt about things happening sooo many times....could be something like that.
or maybe the fact that everyone always wants to tell me their lifestory...even though iv got my mp3player plugged in, sporting my agry ''go-away'' look and am just standing at a busstop.....yeah..it probably would turn out to be that one..its annoying..haha.
or..ofcourse my awesome superpower of always finding the right gift for everyone....yeah. i would be the coolest vamp ever.

oob, you would be a very badass vamp, you would make ruthicon even crazier then she already is....or just bite her head off

My superpower would so be to confuse people into oblivion...
Not sure how that would be in anyway useful though

I'm right now eating leftover cookies instead of breakfast, or actually, the time is such that I'm now eating them instead of lunch... That's healthy, right? Maybe I should go find something proper to eat, but I don't wanna...

har, something "proper" to eat. My diet today consisted of:
Crunchy Nut Cornflakes (cornflakes with - OMG - crunchy nuts amongst them)
Gummi bears.
McDonalds (Big Mc - no onion, Cheeseburger - no onion, Cheesebuger - no onion add bacon (mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm), Ice Cofee)
Pizza (mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm)

The pizza was a "auswaiian" style - that is a mix of aussie and hawaiian - aussie styles involves having egg on the pizza. I'm not normally a fan, but after a day of painting (yet again) I could not be bothered complaining, plus the dude who makes it is a friend of mine.

It really is strange, some aussie things. Actually, here is something that should crack people up - If anyone knows any Aussie men, next time you see them, ask if they are homesick, and if they say yes, ask if a root would help. Be prepared for a very odd response! (PS while roots come from plants, this is NOT what an Aussie man will be expecting from your question). It might pay to do some research on the matter before doing this, in case you are easily embarrased. Personally, I think Obs could have a lot of fun with this.

On the fan fic, I think Obs would already know, but there is a group made at fanfic.net that is collating a lot of the best fics. If anyone does not already have access, then let me know and I'll dig up the page for you.

What would be my vamp power? At the moment, it would be unbelievable tiredness (which might explain why I thought the thing about Aussie dudes would be appropriate . . . .). Maybe it would be the ability to determine the future via other people's dreams?

Anyway, I'm buggering tired, so I should head off. Before I forget, I was going to say, about the comments about me in the video I posted - There is a reason I wear the white shirt - it hides a multitude of sins, such as all the tattoos (obviously). So while i still wouldn't be "some spank bank material" as Obs puts it, I'm a lot less white-bread than I look in uniform. It's hilarious walking down the street on lunch break with no coat on, all in black, with the sun glasses and tattoos all (for the most part) visible, and people either not realising who I am, or double taking. And you can always tell when someone is trying to look at the tattoos without being obvious (they actually get more obvious), or when they catch themselves looking for longer than they think they should. But realistically, I'm not tall, I've not get the abs that I had in school (although the arm and leg muscles haven't deserted me), and if i let my hair get long enough to be the "rock/biker dude", then I end up with a bigger afro than any white dude has a right to have. Believe me, short hair is best. Maybe I should dig up the photo of me getting out of the river after water skiing from 10 years ago. My wife has a copy somewhere, but she assures me she can never find it . . . . .
