Happy Friday everyone!
How could you actually fall asleep...
with this on your bed?
Thanks for the gorgeous pictures from the
Vanity Fair magazine ladies. Oh dear Lord....that magazine may just outsell the April GQ issue. The picture of Rob at the piano half in and half out of his suit reminds me of Domward....rawwwwrrrrr!
I finally bought my
New Moon ticket for an evening show, Friday, November 20th! I can't go to the Thursday midnight premiere as I have to work Friday, but I can't think of a better way to officially start the weekend than watching
New Moon with other Twihards.
I'm going with a coworker and several of her Twilight-addicted friends whom I've met and would all fit in very well around the Halfway House.
Diane, great video and great song too!
Sandy, I'm rereading
Twilight and I just finished the meadow scene too. I'd forgotten just how butchered the meadow scene really was in the movie, and how much more rushed Bella and Edward's relationship appeared in the movie than in the book.
I loved how Stephanie portrayed the more gradual build-up of Edward and Bella's relationship over a period of time, through various detailed conversations and scenes of interaction: in the cafeteria, in Edward's car after the blood typing scene and the restaurant, driving to and from school, when Edward gently touched Bella's hair or face for the first time in the school hallway and was in pain to be separated from her, even for an hour. Those are some of the reasons I fell in love with the books in the first place, and some of the details that were sadly lacking from the movie, partially due to MR and CH, and mostly due to time constraints. I, for one, would gladly sit through a six or eight-hour BBC produced miniseries with Rob and Kristen as Edward and Bella (Pride and Prejudice, anyone?) to completely maintain the integrity of the story.
Gii, I forgot to quote your post directly but this hilarious thing you said...
"I feel a little pervy when I talk about Rob the way I do because I am like, "His cute little British mum and dad must be proud of their baby boy.." and then we go off saying, "OMG Rob is so f*cking hot! I want to do him!!"

...had me laughing my @$$ off.
New Moon Spoilerish Discussion
One quick thought about Chris Weitz' apparent error in judgement or whatever it was that made him decide Bella and Jacob should actually kiss in
New Moon instead of waiting until
Eclipse. I really think this kiss is something Stephanie Meyer would have objected to, because it doesn't really stay true to the arc of her story. If so, would that have made any difference to Chris Weitz or Summit? I remember reading that Catherine Hardwicke supposedly decreased the steaminess of Bella and Edward's bedroom kiss in
Twilight by changing camera angles and such, at Stephanie's request. I can't believe Stephanie would have gone along happily with this not-so-minor alteration to her story. Any thoughts....
