Tracey~ Hmmmmm, oh what to give away and what not to. First, let me say that I agree whole-heartedly about the changes in POV and the ways we get to see things. I ADORE MobWard and his change in perspective and attitude just makes you love him even more.
I will tell you, Khar answers your question about Bella's parentage, rather definitively in an upcoming AN and then most assuredly in upcoming chapters. All your questions, in fact, will AAALLLLLLLLLL be answered, most particularly the one about Carlisle's fascination with Bella. Hold on to your backside! It's a hell of a ride.

Amanda Beth, glad you made it safely
Emancipation Proclamation Discussion
Caryn, thanks for creatively reassuring me about the story without giving away too much.
I just finished the "Christmas" chapter and it was simply lovely. I'm so glad Edward and Bella had a bit of happiness before the storms set in. Meeting and hearing Esme's story, Bella seeing snow for the first time, Bella giving and receiving gifts for the first time
...and then my heart broke for Bella when she realized how much she missed her mother and the guilt she felt over being happy while her mother spent yet another Christmas in the Swan's barn.
I've forgotten to mention how much I enjoy Khar's characterizations of Jasper, Emmett, Alice, and Rosalie. I love that Alice has Edward all figured out, and Rosalie doesn't take any crap from Edward (or anyone for that matter). The three brothers are hilarious together and for all the shiza they take from each other, you know there's nothing they wouldn't do for one another.
I was relieved to read in Khar's notes that Edward and Bella are not blood relatives, as you mentioned. Obviously the question of Bella's parentage is an issue as Carlisle took a sample of her DNA. I now wonder if somehow Charlie Swan might not be Bella's father at all. What if Bella is actually the daughter of some head-honcho-type in the Mob, and therefore she might not be a slave after all?
Although I don't picture men like Aro taking advantage of Bella's mother in that way, but anything's possible I guess.
I still wonder about the possibility of Elizabeth originally being a slave, especially when Edward mentioned that they never stayed in touch with her family.
Anyway, I know I'll find out soon enough, but it's nearly 1 am and I've got to get to bed before I collapse on my computer.
Have a great night everyone!
