I just wanted to let people know that their is a petition for Jodelle Ferland for Jane in New Moon, if you want to sign you can, if you don't im 100% fine with that and i respect it too. i not bashing Dakota.

Dakota Fanning would be totallly wrong for the part in many reasons:

Reason 1: I do not reckon that she could play the creepy side of Jane. Sure she has a face of innocence but Jane is meant to have a face of innocence but evil inside.Dakota does not have that.

Reason 2: She is too well known.In my point of view that is bad for the Jane part. Partly because i think people would be looking at Dakota not Jane..Also because i would like to see a new face in there.

Reason 3: She dosen't fit the apperance side of Jane at all.In my visualization of Jane she was a bit younger, maybe 12 or 11 (some of you may not agree with me on this).

End of rant! Okay,Thanks hope you got my Point Of View from that.

I have to agree that Dakota Fanning is way to well known. Twilight is kinda about up and coming stars. Another thing. Isn't she used to being the star of movies. Jane only comes out like in two scenes in the book. If she's cast won't they have to prolong her part in the movie or something? Thats would just completly change everything. And Lastly, Jane will make an appearance all of the remaining books and if they make them into movies don't you think she would have changed way too much by the time the next movies come out. I think someone younger and with a more childlike presence should be cast. But what do i know? i'm just stating what i think.

I'm not hating on Dakota at all. She's a really great actress but she just isn't right for the role.

I wouldn't say that Jane would be a role that Dakota would normally take, and i think if twilight wasn't big at all she probably wouldn't accepted.
I.WANT.TO.BE.BELLA is right, Dakota is too well known and it isn't good for the role of jane... there not going to see jane there going to see Dakota, but if they get an unknown actress, it wouldn't be like that.

Didn't someone say that summit said a statement that Dakota wasn't the only one who are in talks for the role, if thats true, i think we all know that Dakota is well over known if we only know that she may get the part, where are the rest of the girls who are going for the role? Its quite unfair.

Its going to be hard now because now that everybody knows that she might be getting the role, and she even said it in an interview, (see what i mean by publicity, shes got it on her side!) as where others may not.

I have a question. Jodelle Ferland. Is she the one in your signature/avatar? (Dumbumm) I do agree, as much as I like Dakota Fanning, she is wayy too well known. The problem with working with kids is that they grow up way too fast. That's probably why they'll cast a slightly older person for the role so she won't change too much between the time that passes for shooting.

If this is true I would be so estatic. I thought that Dakota would be a great Jane from the moment I saw her in the add for Push. The whole point of being an actor is playing somebody or something that you are nothing like in real life and if you are truely a good actress you can pull that off. I have faith that Dakota could not only pull off Jane but do a great job at it and maybe this could be a breakthrough role for her, a new side of her. I HATE it when people type cast actors based on former roles, it's acting people, let's see what she can do.

As for her being to well known or expensive, I don't know about that. She's already worked with Summit before, maybe she liked the expirence. I also think that having a well known face in the cast won't hurt it any, it may draw some more people to the theaters!

i am really hoping for dekota fanning for jane but Jodelle Ferland would also be good and i have no problem with her .

Oh and I read this article off of newmoon.org. Actress America Young auditioned for the role of Emily Young. (America Young, Emily Young...it's a sign...LOL) I hope she gets it. I always pictured Sarah Weston as Emily, but I'm happy if America Young gets the role. She's half native too.

Yeah i agree, i think she could work out as Emily.
Just can't wait to see who Leah will be and if Dakota does get the part (even though i'm still ify about) cause they'll need someone to be Alec.
