It would be cool if in the scene where Alice is speeding away in the porsche (and that scene better be in the movie) the intro to "Meant to Live" by Switchfoot was playing. I mean it just sounds totally Alice-kick-butt-ish. :]

it is! ashley has confirmed this herself.. (the speeding porsche scene, i mean.. not the song, lol)

Never Come Around by Kill the Alarm is a good song that would be in Edwards perspective. Its a little too happy though, heres the lyrics:

NEVER COME AROUND

V1:
Spend all your days with your head in the clouds
You listen too close you don’t hear a sound
All of this is harder than it ever appeared
Nothing in your way, no one’s on your side
Nothing will change your one track mind
Everyone around has got so much they want to say

Pre1:
Thoughts of crashing down
And lashing out
Getting lost and swept away

CH1:
Why should I try to be something I’m not?
You can count on one thing
I will never come around
Here is goodbye if you try to change my mind
You can count on one thing
I will never come around never come around
Never come around, never come around

V2:
A sleepless night staring at the stars
Wondering how close they really are
If you don’t reach and try
You will leave life asking why
You got high and you can’t come down
Look at me I never left the ground
Yeah I’ve got stains on my knees
While all your dreams blew away with the breeze

Pre2:
The cost of letting go
Is more than you know
At least that’s what they say

CH2:
Why should I try to be something I’m not?
You can count on one thing
I will never come around
Here is goodbye if you try to change my mind
I don’t care what anyone thinks
I will never come around never come around
Never come around, never come around

BR:
It’s the pretty pain I love
It’s the reason that I bleed
And still the reason I am okay, alright
Okay, alright

CH3:
Why should I try to be something I’m not?
You can count on one thing
I will never come around
Here is goodbye if you try to change my mind
I don’t care what anyone thinks
I will never come around never come around
Never come around, never come around

I want Thinking of You - Katy Perry and Don't Leave Me - Pink to be in the ending credits.

Both songs seem to sum up New Moon pretty nicely.
They wouldn't fit during the movie, but they'd be perfect for the credits.

I know that Chris Weitz was a producer for Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, so I hope he takes some inspiration from the musical selections for that soundtrack.

I especially hope theres some Richard Hawley, Kings of Leon, MGMT, Coldplay, Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, sufjan stevens, Iron & Wine, Rogue Wave, Death Cab, Stars, Shiny Toy Guns, Carolina Liar, Keane, Mazzy Star, or ADELE.

If they choose a Muse song I hope it's "Blackout" or is it called "Blackhole"? idk, i just know it's a beautiful song that would be perfect for the clock tower scene.

Does it really matter who they are, it should be about the song.
Sure, they aren't my cup of tea, but the songs are bloody awesome, and fit the story well.

I don't know if this has already been posted or not, but I didn't see it while I was skimming. Although, admittedly, I'll be surprised if it hasn't because this song is just SO PERFECT for Jacob in this book. Seriously... The guy in the video even kind of looks like Jacob.

Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

I won't post all the lyrics, but if you listen to it, you'll see how perfect it is... ;D

Ok. I guess we've all gotten down that the obvious choice for one song on the playlist should be Evanescense's "My Immortal". For geez sakes, it's got "Immortal" right there in the title. Plus, it's a cool song by a super cool band---I mean, "Bring me to Life" and "Everybody's Fool" would fit anywhere in the movie. I read some of the posts, but not all so if I repeat myself feel free to come down to TX and kick me.

I'm going to admit this: Before Twilight I had never heard of most all the bands; Never listened to Muse, Paramore, Iron & Wine, etc. I still don't- I bought the soundtrack and only listen to that. I am curious if Muse does other songs like the one on the soundtrack. Anyways, I got to thinking about songs that would fit into New Moon territory and I think the following my do. Feel free to rag on me for any choices.

"She Waits" By Zero1---awesome band, fronted by Hal Sparks (if you don't know him, you sooo should). It's a really good song and I think it fits.
"Sober" by Pink---I know I know....too mainstream an artist---but when Bella does death defying feats to hear Edward, it's sort of like she's on a high and trying to figure out how to stay that way. Song fits.
"Already Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. Not a huge Kelly fan or anything, but I heard the song and it sort of sounds like Edward trying to leave Bella. Also, who wouldn't say that "My Life Would Suck Without You" is cool?
"Careless Whisper" redone by Seether because it's that freaking cool.
"Never Say Never" by one of my favorite bands of all time, The Fray.
"Nobody Knows" by The Tony Rich Project---quite possibly the most heartfelt song ever written about a breakup. Girls, get ready to cry if you hear it.
"Broken"---I believe Seether did this with Amy Lee from Evanescence. It's a really good one.

Personally, I'd like to see some work in of maybe some old stuff, like Al Green's "How do you mend a broken heart?" for Bella's anthem or something. No one can sing about heartbreak like old Al. I know the playlist is typically comprised of all sorts of bands that I don't know or listen to, but there's a lot of older stuff out there too that I think would fit. It's really hard to pick because after reading the posts, everyone has awesome ideas. I wish they could make 15 soundtracks to NM---and I have faith that whatever ends up on it will rock. I hope you guys listen to some of the stuff above. Seems like even though we all have different takes on the soundtrack, we all like good music!
"Has anyone ever shown you the difference between good touch and bad touch? 'Cause I'd love to demonstrate. We could start right now.'"
