Hm.. the film sounds interesting, but there is definetly no engineering. It's like.. I had to take this test in school once and when you get your results it tells you your academic strengths and weaknesses, asses your interests, etc. and says "you be a wonderful teacher, or doctor" or whatever you would be wonderful at. The difference is that these people HAVE to become on of the things the test tells them, they can't throw the paper in the trash, it is logged into their Identity data on Identity One and is part of who they are (and are expected to be) not based on genes but on test scores at age 18.
I do agree with you that I need to flesh out some things. That is usually where I fail in story writing is I hit dead ends, but this one is pretty much writing itself, there a few things it hasn't told me yet ~lol~

No, I understood what you proposed earlier. I brought Gattaca up because the scenario is somewhat similar- you're told what you can and cannot do. :)

Be patient. The story and the characters will eventually open up to you. ;)

Good luck!

You may just want to write. Sometimes that's what I need to do to start getting ideas. Just let them flow, you'll have time to edit and make everything smooth.
Thanks for the ideas! I was talking to my sister and she helped me a lot with this character. And I think I may take a few of your suggestions also.

That's pretty much what I do, write and figure it out as I go,
but thank you to ringswraith for pointing out some holes I actually hadn't thought about yet LOL
Debussygirl-when you finish the book if you let people read it, I want to! :D

Yes, my name is Jenna. Pseudonyms are quite difficult to come up with, and I like my name anyway.
And it's just self-publishing. Because I'm a minor publishers didn't even want to look at my manuscript.

Self publishing is cool.
My pastor's wife just self published her first book in a four part series (Phantom Island: Wind amazon.com or krissidallas.com CHECK IT OUt!)
She is looking for publishers/agents. etc. she is sort of young for a published author too (under 30 years old) and she is brilliant.
PUblishers and agents are rather close minded.
That's why I'm glad I know her. IF I ever decided to publish something, she could help me out.
And I will totally buy the book a.s.a.p. it looks awesome!

Thanks!
That's what I'm trying to do, get in the business and eventually get up to official publishers.
