right basically Dorian gets this painting done of him, and he does a deal with the devil to sell his soul and look like the painting forever. then he goes wild, very promiscuous, and the painting changes to reflect the state of his soul.
very good film, worth watching.
i am going to see The Invention Of Lying tommorow - its the new one with Ricky Gervais

Re: The British thread
H! Dumb American here for a vocabulary lesson, I promice not to pick words as embarassing as last time.
1. what does "ponce" mean? The closest I could find was somethign like a gangster but that didn't sound right to me.
2. If pants doesn't mean outer wear for your lower limbs what does it mean?
Thank you in advance!

1) ponce is kind of like a womanly acting man - like a poof?
2) pants are your UNDERWEAR!!! we wear trousers on the outsides of our legs!

Re: The British thread
I think it depends whereabouts you live with the whole pants thing, I live in Lancashire and we call trousers pants I've always wondered about the jam thing too, because on friends Monica calls the stuff she makes jam, but then when they have peanut butter and jelly the jelly looks like jam... oh the confusion
