PARTY REPORT

screams like a school girl and jumps up and down* I Won! I Won! I Won! Yes, I won the movie prop donated by Summit Entertainment for the Lexicon's event in Salt Lake City. It's actually not a prop, it's a costume item. This is not a spoiler because you've all read the book. In Volterra when Bella is running through the crowd to get to Edward, she's pushing and shoving her way through all the people gathering for the St. Marcus Day festival. Everyone is wearing red, especially red capes. In the movie, Bella shoves one girl in particular at the end of her run. That's the cape I have, the girl in the red shirt who got pushed. When I told my husband he acted like I had "
won a major award." He so doesn't get it.
Somethingblue said, "Do not use that as a Little Red Ridinghood Costume." Of course when got back to my folk's place and told them all about my day, my mother, who has not read the books, said, "Oh that would be perfect for Little Red Ridinghood." She was serious.
Nena and I decided Thursday night that we couldn't wait for the party Saturday morning so we went out in our jammies and attended the 3:00 am showing.
Love2dream didn't want to wait either so she drove up to meet us. We all sat together and the theater just kept adding showings. It was packed even though it was the middle of the night.
Love2dream came in her Dr. Carlise Cullen scrubs. She sells them and I'll post the link if anyone is interested. Thank goodness it was reserved seating. We were too tired to go out to breakfast so we just came home and crashed about 6:00 am.
Nena and I met up again this morning to go to the party. Thank goodness we did not get the snow storm that was supposed to dump on us. I brought some flat ghuttermates with me and took their picture inside the theater. After I got some of them uploaded I was aghast that
bac and
Una didn't make it into the picture. You guys were there, I promise!!! I had pictures of Vampman, Vampbard, Vampsiren, bac, Una, Spookybell, Twilight Mom, Oleander, LadyDi, Cullengirl, GAH! I know I'm forgetting someone. I was so grateful
Sprtygal got us into the theater before everyone else because it was not reserved seating. I admit to feeling a little smug when we walked by the lady who had scolded us for trying to cut in line earlier when we were just trying to stay warm by pushing away from the door in the theater's vestibule. We got to help
Alphie,
Pel, and
Somethingblue with set up and distribution so we also had
reserved seats. I won the cape because I had traveled the farthest to attend and got to pick first! The movie was even better the second time. Our gift bags say, "FORKS New York has the Statue of Liberty, Paris has the Eiffel Tower, London has Big Ben. We have Edward Cullen. Any questions?" In them were a bookmark, pencil, tissues to dab your eyes when Bella tells Jacob she loves Edward more, a keychain, a Volturi calendar magnet, some advertising for upcoming Twilight events AND a NM necklace from
Infinite Jewelery who designed Bella's ring.
After the movie, about 30 of us had reservations (organized by Nancy from Infinite Jewelery) for a Lexicon Luncheon at the
The Lion House on Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake. The food was pretty good. Some kind of orange glazed chicken, veggies, new potatoes, and their famous rolls with honey butter. Dessert was chocolate cream cake.
Alphie was hilarious and determined to bring the group together even though we were at separate tables. She made
Pel get up and describe her whole red carpet experience at the Hollywood premiere, including how she accidentally got footage of RPatz's butt! Then she quizzed the group about what we liked and didn't like about the movie. We laughed and laughed! Oh my it was so much fun!
