Re: Gen Y --The 20 something's thread
*peeks in again, very shily, then waves and smiles to Hope and Nyx* Welcome on board, I'm Sonia, 27, from Italy
Nyx I see you're into The Vampire Diaries watching, so am I! (thanks to streaming sites but shhhhhh let's not say this to anyone! who knows when it'll show in Italy and anyway prolly on pay-tv, so ..) I'm loving it and am so annoyed that there won't be any new episodes till january! I need my weekly fix of "Salvatores Bros", Ian's character so evil, sometimes I hate it so much (SPOILER: like when he killed Lexie, urghh) that I'd throw something at the screen, but damn ... he's so HOT! Well so is Paul, not complaining here
Ninna amen to all you say there and I'm glad to hear you're all doing good, your pup is so sweet and precious!
So, well we obviously don't have Thanksgiving here, which is something I'm sorry for, bc in movies (and Misty confirmed that it's more or less like that in real life too lol) it always looks like a great occasion to reunite the family and celebrate, and ALL THOSE GOOD THINGS to eat you see on tables! I've read that mashed potatoes and pumpking cakes are typical dishes, are they like desserts? Sound yummies anyway! ...and well the turkey ... but why? Is there a reason behind it being THE Thanksgiving dish? mmmm, ok now nosey Sonia shuts her mouth ...
... ok no, not yet, bc I definitely wanna add a couple of things... first of all, well of course HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of you guys, I was gonna say "to you in the US", but well no, to ALL of you, bc I guess we all have something to be thankful of and I definitely feel like that: and that's YOU.
Unfortunately I'm not going to the happiest time of my life, it's been so for a couple of years now and despite some negative things happening around me I'm trying to be strong - failing a bit sometimes, but always trying anyway. But I really can't imagine what this last year would have been like without you guys, so close to me despite the distances between us.
As for Ninna, I'm thankful that Stephenie Meyer exists and that she wrote these great 4 books, but not just bc they're a great reading to do, but mostly because they brought me over the Lex and let me find you. In so many ways you have and you are helping me thru some hard moments, always ready to say something that can always comfort me and cheer me up and make me feel loved, and this I swear MEANS SO MUCH to me that there's not enough words to describe it.
So thank you for being there for me, I'm thankful to have met you.
Well this was a bit long and corny, and guess others said things like these before, but it's what I think and felt like sharing, so pls bear with me
Now I'm off to some work again, soooooooo not willing at all thou, my boss won't stop walking (or rather running?) back and forth and he's annoying the hell out of me! And now his niece and son are working here too, so my gosh, they're like ... everywhere!! It feels like the Big Brother house! It just makes me so nervous that .... that ... that I'm gonna have me some chocolate-ish candy thing for sure today, also bc I wanna celebrate my Thanksgiving too! Eh!
...what wouldn't a girl use as an excuse to have some chocolate and candy, uh?
lov ya *group hug*

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Nyx!!!! I totally remember you!!!! You and I left kinda the same time but I remember you from the forums!!! I've talked to you several times. Good to have you back and congrats on the baby!!! He's gonna be a api but Gosh I love babies!!! Hahaha jk anyways!!!
Codaniel!!! Can I just call you Cody?? Let's make that your nickanme here. And you can call me ummmmmmmmmm Hope!!!! AHahaha I have a friend on her that calls me Soap so you can call me that too I wish they had more Twi guys here in La. Gosh they are like literally a million to 1 ratio. It's crazy!!! SS&SM was quite a sarcastically funny book. It's like watching Zombieland which was stupid funny. But it was a different perspective of how the books were originally written. ANd boy are they seliing here!!! People like that stuff lol. I wanna read Wolf Hall now but I need to have the capability of tolerating a really detailed book, It;s like the Dan Brown of Historical Fiction Lit. So even though I work in a bookstore I have noooooo idea what to read next 0_0. That's how picky I am. I've read Sookie Stackhouse and I'm waiting for the new book to be out. I'm kinda kneeling towards Water for Elephants since I heard from alooooooooot of people that it's fantabulous.
Anaimegaijingirl , Sonya, Wingtear and Obieewok Thanks for the welcome. I'm so happy to feel welcomed after being gone for so long . Obieewok I think you and I will get along because I pretty much say what's on my mind too and I appreciate it when people do the same thing no matter how blunt it is So yay!!!
So ummmm what's the topic??? Pick a card any card!!! lol jk.
Happy Thanksgiving y'all!!!

Morning girls and happy thanksgiving to the us girls as well as anyone who feels thankful today lol. I already had my thanksgiving last month which no offenese I like more because it gives me time between thnakgiving over stuffing myself and christmas over stuffing myself lol.
Sonia: Italy....ooo did you visit the filming when they were in italy or was it too far from where you are??? I LOVE my V diaries...I was just gonna call it VD...then I realized how wrong that sounded lol. I didnt know they weren't showing any til January!!! I too watch online right now because my stupid satilliete is broken I have had NO tv for about 3 months now. can't really afford to buy a new thing until after christmas
Hope: I think I rememebr you too!!!! I have a terrible memory on forums for some reason lol.
Well I have been working diligently on my ornaments for my twitree. so far I have handpainted on black balls the four books covers, twilight and new moon, I have bought a plastic lamb and lion, I am making a dream catcher, I have apples, chess pieces, red ribbon, white tlips painted with red, sparkly apples, a crystal star for the top. I am painting a few more sayings on balls today. As soon as my tree goes up saturday I will go picture crazy for you guys!
On another note, I am tryng to lose my baby weight and more and I am using twilight as my motivation. new moon was my first goal of ten lbs I missed it by a pound. I am trying to lose all my weight by twicon. DH made a sheet of "prizes" I get for every few lbs lost. I am get things like books, clothes, shoes, jewlery etc. most of which will be twilight related. I exercise to the twilight soundtrack as well its an awesome motivator!!!
hope everyone has a good thanksgiving

Re: Gen Y --The 20 something's thread
Welcome Nyx and Hope . I've actually just returned from being MIA for a couple of months. Can call me either Bells or Amber. I just turned 25 this month.
Happy Thanksgiving lexily!
Yeah, I've never read the Vampire Diaries books and I don't really plan to. I like the television show well enough though. Oh and Cody I did read Wuthering Heights. I have to admit that it has been about a year ago though.
My past couple of days at work went well. It's nice to have a job again. Anyway, today, I am just hanging out until it's time to go to the boyfriend's for Thanksgiving. He hasn't called yet so I don't know when that will be.
That's all for now.
*hugs to lexily*

Hi Amber!!!! *Waves cheerfully*
I tried getting into the vampire diaries(the show) but I could not for the life of me. The vampires in it piss me off and I feel like I need to slap the girl. No offense to anyone. But I know Twilight is for Young Adults and up but there was some maturity and the drama wasn't high school drama. Vampire Diaries made me feel I wanna yell at the CW!!!!!!!!! As for books I never read them and don't intend to after seeing the show. I read book 1 for the House of Night series for PC Cast but it didn't make me wana know what happens in book 2. Ummmmmm I don't know about the Anita Blake series for Laurel K HAmilton if I should try it out or not. ANy suggestions????????
Enjoy stuffing yourselves tonight!!!
Hope

Anita blake series are AWESOME, especially if you like vampires, lycanthropes and SMUT. If you dont like SMUT, DONT read them
They get smuttier by the book.
I liked the dresden files a lot aswell, about a wizard, he gets in contact with all kinds of stuff, vampires, werewolves, fae, etc.
btw ppl, i was one of the 25 ppl (out of hundreds) to be chosen as a GOSH ambassador (www.gosh.dk). Its makeup and you get to test stuff, think about new products, etc. I never thought i would get picked! im really excited about it!

Pharmer----you are apparently REALLY really missed.
Cody---Dude, I read Wuthering Heights in high school (age myself here---ten years ago) and I couldn't make it through it. Dang those Bronte sisters! First off, anyone who isn't familiar with it---it's hardcore Old English. We are all conditioned to read the writing styles of today, and if you aren't used to older American English Lit, it's going to be a little difficult for you to get through this. Plus, the story itself, well, it sucks really. I'm with Edward---the two main characters of the story are so freaking selfish and lame and I really didn't feel much for either of them. I get why it's so great----I mean, in it's day and even now, it's a great period piece----but man, it's hardcore angst to the angsty degree and there isn't any great ending AT ALL to be had. So read with caution----because after reading it, you'll get why Bella is so freaking mopey. It's not a feel good read by far.
See---that's me---spoutin' my mouth off about whatever I want.
I know most of you don't have Thanksgiving in your countries, but I seriously think next year you guys should do it anyways. I mean, sometimes I make up the exact same meal at other times during the year and celebrate it again. You shouldn't just get one day to say you are thankful anyways. So next year I command that you all in these countries that don't have it MAKE IT SO. Make up a family feast, get your peeps around a table and just say "Yo---Uncle Freakazoid---I'm thankful for ya" or whatever.
Turkey Day was pretty good at Obs house. We had to go to brother-in-laws and well, the food wasn't as good as usual, but the company was nice and now the Christmas tree is up (To those not in the know---Thanksgiving is also the day most of us Americans put up our Christmas Tree....it's like some unofficial start to Christmas Madness).
Speaking of Christmas, today is "Black Friday"---where the most psycho of us line up starting at around four in the morning to go shopping for deep discounts. I'm talking like three dollar coffee pots and stuff. Anyways, I'm not a fan of crowds, or spending money, or really anything for that matter. So I'm not there, and instead, I'm at work, one of the only people here, as most people were smart and took the day off. Me? Well, I like the quiet and the fact that it's a day I get paid to goof off on. So I"m here for a bit before I bounce home.
Quick Fanfic req:
No Trust in Tomorrow---this is awesome, written by a terrific fanfic author whom I love. Keep in mind it's all human, and angsty as all get out. It's an actual story, not a lemon fest, so if you are looking for that, dude, I got a million of those---but it's a good one to read.
Ok---Im off. To all my fellow vamp diaries lovers---I feel you. I'm having Paul/Ian withdrawls as we speak!
