Wow, this thread is kind of getting pretty slow. From the crunching sound that I just heard, I think I just stepped on a couple of crickets. YUCK!

Seeing that I've already posted my songs and dances, maybe we should have a new topic. It seems that the only people that have been coming here have answered those questions already. So on to something new.

What question to ask?

Well since the offices are empty right now maybe I will try to find the "Big Ole' Bear" and do some demolitions of my own and after that have him help clean my office and maybe snuggle up to watch some horror movies.

I'll take a stab at the question though, cos I haven't done one in ages:

So we know that Edward can hear peoples thoughts, Alice can see the future and Jasper can control emotions. So if Emmett contained a "mental" power (anything having to do with someones mind), what do you think it would be?

In the same way that his siblings' abilities reflect their characteristics or personalities on some level, I think that Emmett would have an ability that is true to his nature. It would probably be something that has a rather temperamental aspect to it... like, if Emmett had the ability to persuade people of things, but only insofar as they were susceptible to it, or willing to believe it.
So, for example, he could convince someone that they wanted to place a bet on something that he knew was not going to win, and unless they were guarded against him mentally, or unless they were very sure that placing that bet was not right (even if they were unsure of or couldn't remember why), they would be persuaded to do it.

I don't know if that makes sense, but that's what I came up with.

Actually, if I think about it, I say his gift would be very much like Didyme. He makes the people around him happy! Or or or!!!
He takes away their pain or sorrow and makes them happy. That's a nice combo. Because no one can reject a bear hug from Emm. So...if someone was having a bad day or was really sad, he could make it better! I like my answer!!!

Now, everyone knows, or at least everyone should know by now, that I do not see Emmett as a lover. He will be forever my big brother. But the same doesn't go for Kellan!!!! So... Demos!!!

If Emmett had a mental power...I think it would be healing, Jasper can make people feel better physically, but underneath his effect, their mind can still be upset, I think Emmett could heal the wounds, make them see that it's not as bad as it seems, just like he does he could make them optimistic

I agree, I think his ability would be to do something like make people happy and lift their spirits.
Although, Emmett doesn't need a special ability to do that...

Hey everyone!

Just giving you a quick update on where I'm at. I took my math final last week, and since I had totally excluded myself from everyday life (this includes family, friends, the computer, any kind of social life in general...), I passed it! I still can't believe I did it. Its absolutely amazing. I'm heading into my next math class starting Wednesday though, so be prepared for some more ups and downs.

Family life has been hard as well, and thats another reason why I've distanced myself from the computer lately. Its just really rocky. I'm sure you have all been through tough times with your fam, so you guys might be able to understand.

This weekend I've immursed myself in trying to get my friends back in order (they forgave me for running away to my textbooks for a while, which is very nice of them. ) and trying to edit some of Mez's stuff (if you haven't read her updates yet, DO! They are terrific!). Its been a nice break and I greatly appreciate it.

This coming weekend will probably be the next time you guys hear from me. New things are being shoved at me from all sides right now, so I might need a chance to breathe again once the weekend comes.

I have been trying to keep up with post counts while I can, and so far nobody gets a promo.

I can see why you guys think he'd make people happy, which is a good one, but I think Emmett would have the ability to make people make the wrong "choices" or "moves" so he always wins. For instance, if Emmett was playing baseball, he could just make Jasper turn away for a few seconds because Jazz thought he heard his name being called, and Emmett could throw the ball a few times to strike him out. Emmett wins, and everything's good.
If you think about it, this could be really helpful in quite a few cases. The Volturi, for instance, could be distracted and the Cullens would have a chance to make their move.
