Trine~ Oh for sure, BonneWard is just a little OoC. But, what I love is that, the way AJ tells the story, it makes total sense. He's been using his sex appeal to lure prey. It's his main method for hunting. And, it is certainly quite the interesting twist to have his sexual attraction to her replace his attraction to her blood, almost. A very vampire-y twist, so to speak. While CanonWard will always be my favorite, some of the best fanfic authors open up new aspects of Edward's personality by making them completely realistic. You can completely see the logic in AJ's version of events. Part of Carlisle's influence over Edward was not only his adherence to the veggie diet and the compassion that follows, but also the old world values to which he adheres. If Edward wasn't surrounded by three perfectly matched couples, didn't see the depth and breadth of that kind of love thus refusing to settle for anything less, his being a complete manh00r might just make a whole lot of sense. Then again, maybe I just needed an Edward who isn't always an angsty mess over his less chivalrous desires for Bella.Dovrebanen wrote:Bonne Foi
I just got caught up with the 30 chapters yesterday. I was so sceptical when I saw him jump in the sack with Bella on the first night. I thought that was so OOC, since it took Edward forever to even kiss her in Twilight. But once you get used to this version of Edward, it is a fantastic story. I've really enjoyed seeing their relationship progress. And the fact that it's in EPOV makes it even better.

*How to Save a Life discussion – Edward’s POV Outtakes*
I really enjoyed being inside Edward’s head. I liked how he knew he was being horrible to his family and that he didn’t blame them for what happened to Tanya. I liked how he kept reinforcing that it was his fault and “not theirs”. And I liked that he thought of Bella When he said he was thankful for his family - I thought that was very sweet! And also, when he was talking about how he noticed Bella staring at him all the time…that made me laugh!
I even liked being in his head when he was high. It was good to see how he thought, and I thought it was pretty funny that he kept saying things (eg like offering to go to the centre with her) that he didn’t necessarily think he wanted to say, if he was sober. I liked how he knew that she knew that he had smoked: "She knew what I'd been doing. Of course she did. She knew everything".
I am very much looking forward to the next outtake of the sleepover

Thank you for the rec, older_twilight_fan.older_twilight_fan wrote:I liked reading the lists of some of your works in progress and feel a little better that my list isn't quite as long as I thought.
Please, please, please tell me someone here has read Intersection by Lillybellis. This is one of those stories that's going to stay with me awhile and I'll probably come back to again and again. Here's the official story summary:
Bella Swan wants a fresh start in a new town, and a chance encounter with Edward Cullen turns into something meaningful when their lives begin to intersect. Will a past connection and inexplicable bond be enough to heal the wounds that both are hiding?
This story was amazingly well written and I fell in love with it from the start. Bella and Edward each suffered tragic events in their past, Bella in particular, and this story focuses on the encounters between Bella and Edward and how they help one another heal and learn to love again. It's all about reconnection, forgiveness, and forgiving yourself, and how time and distance can never really separate us from the ones we love.
The Cullens, Charlie, Renee, Phil, Jacob, and other Quileute members are a part of this story, some featured more prominently than others. I actually adored Jacob in this story--he is Bella's close childhood friend, protector of her secrets, and her primary source of support at the beginning of the story. One aspect of the story I enjoyed, probably because of my "advanced age" , was the fact that Bella and Edward are in their very early 30's with a little bit of life experience under their belts. This Bella has a little more attitude and sass than book Bella, and I loved her easy banter with Jake and Edward. Many witty moments and lines helped to balance out the heavier moments of angst, which were often at the forefront of the story.
The author brilliantly conveyed a depth of emotion that was often breathtaking and heartwrenching, especially in interactions between Bella and Edward or Bella and Charlie. There were many poignant moments when I was brought to, or very near tears...although this could be heightened by PMS symptoms.
The story is complete, and at twenty-five chapters is actually manageable (and I believe preferable) to read in two or three sittings. As much as I love many of our epic but uncompleted fanfics like Emancipation Proclamation, The Fallout, and The University of Edward Masen, for me they lose just a bit of momentum and steam when I have to wait two to three weeks (or more) between chapters ...not as if that stops me from reading them, of course.
I'd love to hear your thoughts about Intersection, if anyone has read it...otherwise I'll drive myself batty without anyone to compare notes.
I will definitely read this one.

I caved and read Bonne Foi. I had to after so many of you were discussing. I couldn't hold out any longer.
Man B & E sure do have a very healthy appetite for lemons!
I really like how this one plays off of the events that that happen in the canon story. But I have to agree I was nervous for the first few chapters with Edward too, its like a wild animal becoming a domesticated pet.

*** MOBS DISCUSSION ***
Oh My Goodness, Hunterhunting just owns me with what ever she writes!! From the angst of CW&IA to the light, snarky goodness that is MOBS. I LOVE IT!!!! This last chapter was just laugh out loud funny. The word vomit that comes out of Bella is just snort out loud, hold your sides too much. What a fun, fun ride this story is.
My favorite part was when they were trying to figure out breakfast:
EDIT: invisible font
"It's an egg white omelet, it's healthy and it tastes good," he replies, moving around me to grab a container of precooked veggies from the fridge before he dumps a load of them on top of the disgusting looking egg whites. It looks pretty unpleasant.
"Well where's the bacon? All I see are veggies; you need bacon, or at the very least ham in your omelet for it to qualify as an omelet. Does it even have cheese? And that's just gross, whites only? The yolk is the best part." I'm just saying all this to irritate him. He's obviously one of those healthy eaters. Maybe I can irritate him enough that he'll What on earth does fornification under consent of king have to do with this? me on the counter. That would be hot.
"Egg whites are full of protein," Edward replies, sounding all snotty as he pours two glasses of his expensive, freshly squeezed orange juice.
I smile at him and pop a red fish into my mouth and hum contentedly, chewing slowly as he watches me with narrowed eyes. This is so fun. Who knew he could get bent out of shape over egg whites and Swedish Fish?
"So is jizz but you don't see me harvesting yours so I can drink a glass of it," I say.
Edward is in the middle of taking a sip of orange juice and he spits it out all over me and his omelet. At least I'm not wearing my own clothes. "Jesus, Bella." He looks a little taken aback.
I really love that I can stun him with my perversion. I know he isn't a hockey Vulgar Language Is Ugly, but he's definitely got more experience than I do, so phrases like these shouldn't be all that surprising, at least I don't think so.
"What? It's true, at least I think it is." I shrug.
Edward stares at me for a moment, "You're an interesting woman," he says quietly and flips his omelet.
Bella's mouth is just out of control!! Thank you HH!! You are awesome!!!!!!

Christy, hope you enjoy Intersection. You might want to have a couple of tissues handy, although that may depend on whether you're as much of a sap as I am.navarre wrote:Thank you for the rec, older_twilight_fan.older_twilight_fan wrote:I liked reading the lists of some of your works in progress and feel a little better that my list isn't quite as long as I thought.

Kay, your quote from MOBS cracked me up so much that I nearly spit out my drink. I've scanned through everyone's posts and know many of you are enjoying it. I was trying to resist starting yet another uncompleted fanfic, but I may have to break down and begin MOBS when I get back in town.
Thanks,
Tracy

Tracy ~ I agree with Kay. You really should start reading MOBS! It's soooooo funny. It totally cracks me up every time and there are always spit your drink moments in every chapter. Bella is just extremely funny
Kay ~ That part was awesome, but there was once thing Bella said/thought that really really made me laugh for minutes But I can't quote it cuz it's not exactly PG-13 lol And I agree, HH totally owns me with everything she writes too. Not just her stories but her one-shots are awesome as well. She's just so great.

Hey everyone,
Just a quick reminder- not everyone reads the same fanfics, and quoting text from them should really be put under the "invisible ink" font. Also, the above quote mentions things definitely not for viewing by the general public, and this site is not for adults only. Please be mindful that we do have young readers who frequent the boards.
All that being said, I did read that chapter and I did laugh when that scene transpires.
