
I love that you can feel the pain and can't just brush off the problems that the characters in SM's books have. They haunt them, which is much more realistic to me. I hate it when a character in a book or movie goes through something terrible, and then it just dissipates from them, leaving them unaffected. What makes us stronger has to eat at us first, and it is the scars from those wounds and the muscles developed in the fight that make characters strong enough for the battles they face.
On the lighter side, SM does the best one-liners of almost any author out there, and I just love that.
