You nailed that perfectly, Kachiti. He has class & style and sophistication. He has a beautiful heart and a very giving spirit and obviously he has garnered a wide circle of friends who deeply respect him because of how he has conducted himself over the centuries. It is interesting that second only to the Volturi, he has the most incredible power base of 'gifts'' in his own family - and that's another thing - he is all about family, that seems to be the most important thing to him. Pretty neat. :)
You know I never paid attention to that before but your right, five members of his family are gifted.

Carlisle is a great character! I love how he's a "monster" and yet, not even the werewolves can be disrespectful to him. Everyone has a lot of respect and love for him and the fact that he's always the peace keeper is another thing that draws people to him. I had to giggle when he got all excited because he thought he found a way to make the vampire transformation less painful though. It was like a kid getting a puppy. lol =) <3

I cannot even imagine the strength Carlisle would have needed to deal with his transformation the way he did and make the decision not to kill humans. The way he handled himself was truly impressive. He is definitely a man to be respected.

^i agree. everyone else had someone to tell them what was happening to them, to help them with the hunger issues, but not carlisle. he was all on his own on everything. he is definintly a very strong character.

Every time somebody says the word "doctor", I think of Carlisle. His head pops into my brain every single time.
I know, I was at the doctor's office, and my doctor asks me a question and I said, "Yes, Dr.Cullen."

Once I realized what I said, my face turned redder than Bella's ever did.

Carlisle is awesome. His compassion is like:

"WWWWW----OOOOOO-----wwwwwwwww"

Like in MS, he said something like:
"You must keep the Swan girl alive, whatever it takes to do.".
He didn't even meet Bella, and he wanted to save her life. Or when everyone wanted to kill Bella, he didn't even
WANT to kill her even though he genuinely thought that she was a hazard to his family. :!:

You shouldn't be unless he had read or heard of the Twilight series.
